The station Cadena COPE Lorca is celebrating its golden anniversary and for this reason it has scheduled a series of events celebrating 50 years on the air, which begins Monday with a retrospective exhibition on the history of radio, the oldest of the city.
The exhibition, entitled "Radio Popular-COPE.
The station "will be inaugurated on May 31 at 18:30 by the Minister of Presidency of the Government of Murcia, María Pedro Reverte, and the mayor, Francisco Jodar, in the ballroom of the art casino and literary work of Lorca, which can be seen until June 9 in the morning and afternoon, Monday through Sunday.
In this space, COPE offers visitors a nostalgic journey to the past radio station, which opens the album and features more than 200 snapshots of the first studies of radio that had the city, the technical equipment of broadcasters the time and broadcasts of some major news Lorca occurred in the past 50 years.
The photo review is completed with the original display of products that made radio broadcasts in Lorca: the first microphones, tape recording systems continues, the player, bovine and tape.
The exhibition also includes a comprehensive exhibition of old radios, the 30, 40, 50 and 60, old transistors, some of them in perfect working order, in which tuned in the first broadcasts of Radio Popular de Lorca.
The music, another essential element of the life of the station, displayed collection in the exhibition with a selection of hundreds of vinyl that most have played in the radio spectrum of Lorca in 1960, taken from the disco of the COPE the most comprehensive on the city, with more than 20,000 original disks.
As background music, many songs of the sentimental story of COPE Lorca will sound continuously as long as open the show, alternating with audio of past broadcasts, commercials and programs that will restore the sound of old radio.
The awards garnered by Radio Popular-COPE, its charitable initiatives, press clippings with references to the involvement of the station in the social and cultural make up a section on the chain's presence in the local newspaper archives.
This exhibition is the first of the events planned by COPE Lorca on the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary, but this year, the event will be on the daily life of the string with spaces issue "The Wonder Years," "Popular Chain COPE "and the publication of a monographic publication, which will be released in November, which will include highlights from the history of the station since the 60s.
