The House unanimously supported the declaration of a Cultural village for fishing tips Calnegre (31/05/2010)

Three local groups have adopted a motion in the People's Party that supports this recognition brought by the Autonomous Community, stressing the importance of this place and its protection.

The Full Council of Lorca unanimously adopted a motion proposed by the Municipal People's Party in which they expressed the full support of the Corporation to complete a declaration of cultural interest, with the category of place of ethnographic interest to for the fishing village of tips Calnegre in Lorca, performed according to the report issued by the Heritage Service which highlights the importance of the village located in Calnegre tips and interest in their protection through declaration as Well Cultural Interest.

This agreement will be transferred to the Directorate General of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage of the Autonomous Region of Murcia, the Platform for Affected the Town of Calnegre tips, the State Coastal Authority, the Federation of Associations of Lorca's neighbors and to the Government Delegation in Murcia and the Ministry of Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs.

As reflected in the resolution of January 15, 2010 of the Directorate General of Fine Arts and cultural property, to initiate file a declaration of cultural interest, with landmark status ethnographic village for fishing tips of Calnegre in Lorca (Murcia), which was published in the Official Gazette of the Murcia Region, dated February 3, 2010: "on the coast Lorca, Ramonete deputation, is the original fishing village called Calnegre Tips , which is a group of buildings associated with the traditional fishing activity off the coast of Murcia.

The housing is divided into two small groups divided by the stream that comes from the northern slope of Pico del Siscal, the town is situated on the beach Calnegre north of Punta de Calnegre, where there is a lookout tower called Torre Calnegre of tips.

The first group of homes are in the bend of the coast and at the foot of the Punta de Calnegre.

The second group, north of the stream is parallel to the coast and divided by a street.

Originally, according to the testimony of neighbors' homes this second group were in the second row while the first line was occupied by houses for fishing gear.

This group, defined as a population unit despite being divided by a geographical accident has a barracks of the civil guard (now restored for housing) and a chapel.

The present shrine dates from the 40's, according to neighbors, as the previous one was destroyed during the civil war.

The origin of the village was known exactly, but some sources as far back as 200 years old.

In regard to the type of structures, there are three main models of vernacular architecture.

The first is rectangular, of height and pitched roof, which consists of a symmetrical distribution on the front door and two windows on both sides.

The second is the traditional Mediterranean cubic house, originally from Málaga cover, with an exceptional example in a home with an oven attached to one side, keeps the pipes through which flowed the cover, has a well in the patio door and rear.

The third type is a home, similar to the first type described, which were the sleeping areas of housing, and has an annex on the same line of two-storey façade with separate entrance, in which stood the kitchen and the room in which food was stored.

These three building types are examples of traditional architecture, made with local materials such as mortar, algae, pebbles and rods, all abundant in the area, and has continued in use until today.

The financial resources of the village came, according to the testimony of neighbors, agriculture, mining (pit area in the municipality of Mazarrón, where some residents worked ore loading dock located on the boardwalk to the vapors English Parazuelos anchored on the coast) and, especially, fishing resulting cured artisanal production.

The fishing boat was made in 42 inches of lateen sail.

Fishing from boats with Train, capturing, among others, mackerel, bonito, mackerel, and trammel bream, mullet and flounder.

These boats are aground on the shore, with no port or dock, just as today the fishermen do with their small boats.

The values of this town, previously described, which are mainly based on ethnological criteria because they represent, in a characteristic and unique lifestyle of this area of our region and deserves to be preserved, they must provide a framework appropriate legal protection for this group of traditional houses. "
