El Huerto Ruano on Monday will host a photo exhibition of French Jean Dieuzaide (11/06/2010)

The Director General of Archives and Libraries, Francisco Giménez Gracia Lorca Mayor will inaugurate this exhibition of 50 photographs taken in Murcia, Cartagena, Lorca, Vera and Cuevas de Almanzora.

The Councillor for Culture of the Municipality of Lorca, Rosa Medina, has reported that on Monday June 14 at the Garden Ruano, at 20 hours, the Director General of Archives and Libraries, Francisco Giménez Gracia Lorca Mayor will open a French exhibition of photographs by Jean Dieuzaide.

This sample contains a selection of 50 photographs taken in Murcia, Cartagena, Lorca, Vera and Cuevas de Almanzora in 1951, made on behalf of the French publishing Arthaud as illustrations for the book the Frenchman Jean Delmert Hispanist wrote under the title Espagne du Sud (there is Spanish version of Youth Editorial published in 1956).

Selection of pictures on the Garden Ruano, are those made in Lorca, about 20, without a doubt the highest quality of all.

Several of them gathered weekly market on Thursdays in the Plaza of Spain and Poplar Street, others that reflect the collection of water in the fountain in the Plaza de la Estrella, transported in trucks, or the sandal, or work of potters.

The exhibition contains photographs full of life and sensitivity, performed by a great French photographer belonging to the same generaciónque Robert Doisneau and Henri Cartier Bresson, and have high artistic value while the documentary.

The photographs were donated by the Center for the Study and the History of Photography from the Region of Murcia for exhibition in Lorca.
