Public Works calls for tenders for improvement in the environment of the Rambla del Muerto de Lorca (12/06/2010)

The works are part of the remodeling of this approach aimed at improving road safety for the inhabitants of the villages in the area

The Directorate General of Highways, the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, has put out to tender the works to improve the environment of the Rambla del Muerto on the road connecting the hamlet of Lorca Zarzadilla de Totana, RM-C9 , with a total budget of 583,471 euros.

The Director of Roads, Jose Guijarro, explained that this action "will be increased road safety conditions for drivers traveling on the area, which will improve the drainage of the promenade and road conditions through its expansion and a rectification of the current path. "

Specifically, improvements are projected at kilometer 12 of the track, passing through the Rambla del Muerto and the 800 meters and consist of the correction of the path to increase the radius of the curves up to 400 meters and as proper drainage work to eliminate the current speed bump in the road.

In addition, the general director said that "will take place the extension of the platform, with two lanes of 3.5 meters and shoulders of a meter wide, concreted ditches are enabled and implemented the necessary cross drainage works, so that drivers can enjoy a flight with a comfortable and smooth driving along this stretch. "

The Highways Agency has already completed the first phase of works for the remodeling of this road, where the regional government has invested 600,000 euros and that was the design of the road from km 8.2 to 13.
