The City Council gives the association of Lorca builders a referenced cartography of buildings located in the historic center to stimulate activity in this area (03/05/2018)

It is a series of 5 maps that has been made thanks to the work developed by municipal technicians, including land and buildings, as well as information on each property such as apple and plot numbers, exact address, cadastral reference and surface in meters squares.

The Councilman of Historic District in the City of Lorca, Sandra Martinez, reported that the City Council has developed a catalog of properties in a state of abandonment or advanced deterioration in order to stimulate their recovery through its dissemination among professionals in the sector of the construction, face to the potentiation of the social activity, innkeeper and dinamizadora of this zone.

It is a concrete image of how our historic center is located, which establishes the conditions in which we can find these properties, including contact information with references of its owner to facilitate contact between its owners and potential buyers.

It deals with constructions as well as with private plots located in the reference area.

Martínez Navarro explained that the preparation of a report of this type was one of the priority objectives for the City Council.

In fact, work has been carried out with this purpose over several months, with the contribution of technicians who have been commissioned to carry out a study at street level to monitor the state of these houses and their specific location.

As a result of this effort, a particular cartography has been prepared that includes the delimitation of the different territorial areas that affect the historic center, as well as their respective land uses.

Each map of the series, which includes a total of 5 recreations, includes a table that, as a summary, includes information on each property such as apple and plot numbers, exact address, cadastral reference and area in square meters. .

Sandra Martinez has stated that the location of these buildings is very scattered throughout the area of the historic center, although we can determine the existence of greater concentration in some streets of greater urban importance, such as Zapatería and Cava streets, Selgas and Fernando el Santo , and its environments.

We must take into consideration that this work has required the revision of practically all existing buildings and lots, of which more than 200 individual references have been taken.

In this regard, it should be noted that the surface area of plots amounts to 12,670 square meters, the plot area with abandoned buildings to 11,980 square meters, while the plot area with ruined buildings to 1,546 square meters.

The councilor of Casco Historico has anticipated that once carried out the field work and reflected their results on plan, we want to disclose among the Lorca builders, as well as between possible buyers and interested, these documents.

To that end, we started today a round of contacts with Ceclor and the Union of Builders (Ucecon), which starts with the aim of making them aware of the possibilities of real estate transactions in the area.

We have the challenge that this work contributes to the social and economic movement of the area.

This work is part of the different actions that have been carried out by the City Council to improve and promote social, commercial, hospitality and residential activity in the historic center, which has as more obvious examples the construction of the new Palace of Justice (which involves an investment of around 10 million euros), as well as the restoration of the Collegiate Church of San Patricio (4.3 million) and the churches of San Pedro (500,000), Santa María (1 million), other investments.
