The repair of the RM-C9 road would be a solution to a historical demand of the residents of Zarzadilla de Totana, who have been demanding for years the improvement of communication with the city of Lorca, given the continuous announcements and unfulfilled promises by the Partido Popular

The deputy of the PSOE, Isabel Casalduero has registered a question in the Regional Assembly with which will oblige the Development Counselor to respond with the date in which they plan to begin repair works of the pending section to complete the repair of the RM-C9 , road that connects the district of Zarzadilla de Totana with the urban center of Lorca.

Casalduero assures that the pending works correspond to the last stretch of the road until its link with the regional highway RM-503, which connects the towns of Aledo and Bullas, and through which more than 130,000 vehicles circulate a year.

This phase should involve the fitting of 3.5 linear kilometers, with an approximate execution period, according to the General Directorate of Roads, of 12 months.

According to the Socialist deputy, the execution of this project, demanding for years by the neighbors, would suppose to give solution to the historical aspiration to improve the communication of Zarzadilla de Totana with the city of Lorca.

However, the lack of commitment of the Autonomous Community and the City of Lorca has made this project is "paralyzed", despite the "repeated announcements and promises" by the heads of the Popular Party.

Casalduero recalled that in November 2016, the heads of the Directorate General of Roads and the City of Lorca assured in a meeting before the residents of the district that the project of this work was "in writing" and that it would be finished " end of the year for its tender and award during the first semester of 2017. "

Today, says the socialist deputy, the neighbors still do not know the details of the project, and most worrying, the start date of these works "very necessary" to improve the communications of the residents of Zarzadilla with the city de Lorca "that continues to be delayed".

For the socialist deputy, the repair of this route is "fundamental" for the improvement of road safety conditions, and of course, for the improvement of communications, vital for the structuring of the territories and for the generation of opportunities in the districts.
