The Councilor for Policy of the Mayor of the City of Lorca, Belén Pérez Martínez, has announced the program that will run from May 14 to 18 in our municipality on the occasion of the Active Activities for the Aging "Lorca Ciudad Amigable with the Senior Citizens ", which has the collaboration of Obra Social" la Caixa "and the Poncemar Foundation.
The Edil explained that "this show is a demonstration that the different stages of maturity are active, fruitful and with many possibilities of action and interaction, through this program is intended to publicize the activities developed by the groups of older people, at the same time that new activities of physical and social development are proposed, with this type of activities an active aging is encouraged, enjoying fully the leisure ".
The program will start on Monday, May 14 at 6 pm with the opening of the exhibition of the works carried out by different groups of adults in the Cultural Center.
It will be available to visitors until Friday, May 18 at 12 noon.
Then there will be a demonstration of the different dances that are rehearsed in the courses offered by the Department, taking place in the Assembly Hall of the Cultural Center.
The afternoon will end with a snack.
On Tuesday at 10.30 am the walking march and the reading of the manifesto by Lorca as Friendly City with the elderly will be celebrated.
The different participating institutions and groups will travel from the Plaza de España to Las Alamedas where the aforementioned manifesto will be read.
At 5.30 pm in the Cultural Center will take place the Great Tales War, an initiative that will be borne by Grandparents Storytellers and children Proinfancia Program "la Caixa".
In this same appointment, the prizes of the 1st Intergenerational Grandparents Storytelling Contest will be presented.
On Wednesday, May 16, the elders will visit the Archaeological Museum where the educational workshop "The Prehistoric Pottery" will be held, through which participants will learn to model a small piece of clay by hand.
On the Thursday morning, specifically at 10 am, there will be a lively masterclass of gymnastics at the Alameda de la Constitución.
At 8:00 pm, in this same location, the Municipal Music Band will offer a concert for all the seniors who wish to attend.
The program will end on Friday May 18 with the closing of the exhibition.
Pérez Martínez pointed out that "in parallel with the development of the activities, information points will be established for the dissemination of the" Lorca Friendly City of the elderly "project, as well as the collection of questionnaires for the diagnosis of the friendliness of the project. points will be available from 10 am to 1 pm at the Cultural Center and on Thursday at the Alameda de la Constitución during the celebration of the master class.
