Lorca gets a new boost for its industrial sector with the expansion and modernization of the facilities of 3 leading companies located in the Saprelorca polygon (24/05/2018)

One of the most important companies in the manufacture of pet food, Alinatur, will invest 4 million euros to boost their current facilities, which serve orders from 35 countries, working for Day, The English court and IFA, among others.

The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, reported that the industrial estate Saprelorca continues to record a remarkable and continuous movement both for the arrival of new firms and for the growth of companies that are already located in the area.

The First Edil pointed out that this is very good news for the industrial sector not only of Lorca, but of the whole region.

We are talking about facts that allow us to increase our leadership as subregional capital and that ratify that the economic movement presents a positive evolution.

We are being able to make our industrial land attractive for the establishment of companies, which translates gradually into the progress of our industrial areas and the generation of new jobs, which is the central objective of the joint work of all the social, economic and business agents of this city.

Fulgencio Gil has indicated that Lorca have spent many years working on strengthening the economy of the municipality and its labor market through incentives and lines of action that allow us to achieve a diversification of productive sectors.

The challenge is to continue promoting the industrial sector, in parallel to the positive progress made by the primary sector, which is our main socio-economic engine and the generation of employment.

In this same framework we have to continue betting on the growth of the tourism sector, expanding the offer that we make available to those who visit us, and in this way we have achieved such a significant challenge as the start-up of the Parador de Turismo, the achievement of the long-awaited and historic Blue Flag for the Calnegre cove as well as the recovery of the magnificent monumental heritage that was so damaged due to the earthquakes of 2011.

Fulgencio Gil, who visited the facilities of Alinatur in Saprelorca this morning, stressed that the only formula that offers us a guaranteed success in economic diversification and development of the industrial sector is "work, work and work".

There are no magic recipes, nor is there another way.

Thanks to this effort we have left behind one of the most difficult stages in the recent history of the municipality, in which we suffer a "perfect storm" due to floods, earthquakes and the worst economic and labor crisis in the recent history of Spain.

The Mayor said that today the outlook is very promising, and we can see how national and international firms are betting on Lorca, seeing us as a municipality with a future, serious and offering important advantages to be installed in our large industrial areas.

This is the case of the companies Alinatur, Solplast and Alimer, which are expanding and optimizing their facilities with the aim of increasing their production.

In the case of Alinatur, it is a company created in 2009, dedicated to the production and marketing of pet food.

It has a maximum production capacity of 120,000 tons / year, and distributes products or is in the process of being distributed with contracts signed in 35 countries on 4 continents, ranging from Chile to the Philippines and from Germany to Angola.

It is experiencing a steady development and general consolidation in the global pet landscape.

Alinatur Petfood begins to produce in early 2009, reinventing and conditioning an obsolete factory that was dedicated to the manufacture of swine feed.

Thanks to a strong investment from its partners, an industry is created, unique in the Region of Murcia, with the most advanced machinery.

The firm has two lines of business, the specialized channel through the commercialization of its own brands and retail, making private distribution brands to groups as strong as DIA, IFA or El Corte Inglés among others.

It produces all types of feed from the most economical ranges to the products with the highest added value, such as its own range called Bravery.

The process of expanding its productive core will lead to double the area of packaging and shipping, as well as storage and support for production.

This expansion is vital for the growth of the company, and will involve an investment of close to 4 million euros.

The challenge is to create around thirty jobs and be one of the national benchmarks.

Fulgencio Gil has informed, in addition, that so far this year the entity Saprelorca has made two important sales of industrial land.

It is a plot of 11,314 m2 acquired by Alimentos del Mediterráneo (Alimer), for the expansion of its business in the Saprelorca Industrial Estate, starting immediately with the construction of a new feed factory, which will allow them to diversify their products .

Alimer is an agricultural cooperative formed by more than 1,500 farmers and ranchers in the region of Guadalentín Valley and Cieza, which began its activity in the Saprelorca Industrial Estate in 1983, with the installation of a feed factory, occupying a surface initial of 5,250 m2.

Subsequently, in 1988, expanded its facilities with an additional surface of 2,400 m2, which were intended for the construction of a cheese factory.

Over the years it has been growing, until currently occupying a total area of 24,603 m2, where its sections of feed, dairy and preserves are located.

The Mayor added that this week has been the firm Solplast which has acquired an industrial plot of 15,500 m2que, together with the 64,729 m2 currently occupied, consolidate the expansion project for the development of new products that the company in the region del Guadalentín.Solplast belongs to the Armando Álvarez Group of companies, composed of 15 complementary companies, specialized in the different segments and applications of the plastics market, being currently the largest plastic transformer group in Europe, with an annual volume of production of 300,000 tons.

In 1986, Armando Álvarez decided to build an industry specialized in the manufacture of plastics for agricultural use in our Industrial Estate.

Over time, they have grown to occupy a total area, with the new acquisition, of 81,231 m2.
