The Lorca socialists lament the neglect that presents this environment, due to the municipal abandonment since its inauguration.

They ask the Mayor that just as he is for the inauguration photo, he is also to maintain what he inaugurates.

"It's useless, he says, to invest in improving public spaces, if two days later, due to carelessness and neglect, they let themselves die."

The deputy spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Marisol Sánchez Jódar has requested the clearance of access to the Castle from San Juan, as well as improvements in lighting and maintenance of green areas.

In this way, Lorca socialists echo the complaints of both residents and visitors who make use of these accesses to climb from La Merced to the neighborhood of San Juan or the Castle of Lorca.

Sánchez Jódar has denounced that the neglect that the City of Lorca submits to this "tourist enclave" is "shameful", and is the cause that has become a place of "little security."

Since the inauguration of this enclave, they denounce that the City of Lorca has forgotten to "maintain" these spaces, especially the stairways, steps and viewpoints and their surroundings, which has caused it to be a focus of vandalism and incivility.

Neighbors and users of this area denounce the accumulation of garbage, and the lack of care of green areas, where it is "shameful" the amount of waste and weeds that are generated.

In this sense, the socialist mayor asks the Mayor that "just as it is for the inauguration photo, it is also to maintain what it inaugurates."

For this, Sánchez Jódar calls for the cleaning of this "tourist enclave", through the increase in cleaning and replacement of the luminaries damaged by vandalism.

In the same way, and to combat this situation, the mayor insists on the need to increase vigilance, also demanded by the neighbors themselves.

In the same way, the mayor has once again requested the cleaning of the margins of the Cuesta de la Velica, before the accumulation of weeds that invades the road.

Sánchez Jódar recalls that a year ago, due to a similar situation, there was a fire outbreak, so cleaning is urgent in this regard to minimize this type of risk.
