The Councilors of Commerce, Urbanism and Citizen Security in the City of Lorca, María del Carmen Ruiz, Saturnina Martínez and María Belén Pérez, together with the President of the Hoteliers Association of Lorca, Hostelor, Jesús Abellaneda, have presented this morning in the popular Plaza de Calderón, a sensitization and conciliation campaign aimed at hospitality customers, which aims to raise awareness against noise.
It is one of the factors that, sometimes, prevents the normal conciliation of the development of the activity of bars, restaurants and cafeterias with the necessary rest of the neighbors.
Hospitality entrepreneurs, aware of this reality, and in direct collaboration with various councilors of the City Council, have taken the initiative to transfer their clients the need not to contribute to generating noise.
In fact, the current month of June will be used to conduct an awareness campaign against this factor, which contemplates the installation, basically on the terraces of the different signaling establishments with messages alluding to the purpose of the campaign, which have been written in the style of our particular way of speaking, including typical expressions of the Lorca language such as "Acho, baja la voz o," talks to Bonico. This initiative is included in the activities that will be developed during the coming weeks to mark the celebration of World Environment Day, and is focused on correcting easily preventable situations that, sometimes, prevent the reconciliation of the rest of the citizens with the development of the hotel business, especially on terraces.
The campaign's mission is to raise the awareness of the population of terraces and the hoteliers themselves against the emission of unnecessary noise, especially shouting, which may affect the rest of the neighbors. This initiative seeks to recall the importance of coexistence in the center of the city, so that it is compatible the activity of those who want to rest with that of people who want to enjoy leisure, gastronomy and Lorca atmosphere.
The City Council is committed to promoting this type of initiative with the aim of harmonizing both the interests of residents and users and hotel business owners.
We are talking about one of the sectors that contributes most significantly to the creation of jobs and the revitalization of social activity in all cities.
A living city requires establishments that offer this type of service, being precisely the terraces one of the traditional spaces for meeting and gathering between people.
We consider it an attractive and enriching project for all parties.
Hostelor, in addition, will proceed to distribute among its members a wide range of napkins donated by Higiesmur with the messages already mentioned.
