The Plaza de Sutullena is witness to the social life of Lorca, and is a building that despite not being Lorca, we have considered ours.
In fact, this City Council, under the mayorships of José Antonio Gallego, Miguel Navarro and Francisco Jódar, has taken steps in this direction, which we now have the opportunity to materialize definitively.
Lorca could not resign himself to losing the Plaza de Sutullena.
Due to the serious damages caused by the earthquakes of 2011 in the structure of this property, the construction requires an important rehabilitation that we will finance through the funds of the Master Plan for the Recovery of the Heritage, with an endowment close to one million euros .
The Mayor has stressed that the Plaza, will be allocated to multipurpose arena, with the aim of housing facilities for attention and service to the citizen, as well as hospitality and museum use.
The goal is to keep its doors open throughout the year, even proposing to house children's games inside to give the property a marked social and family profile.
Historical review of a centenary coso.
The negotiations for the construction of this property began at the end of 1891 on plans of the architect Justo Millán and its inauguration took place on June 29, 1892, with cattle ranch of the Duque de Veragua that the right-handers Rafael Molina "Lagartijo", Antonio Reverte and Rafael Guerra "Guerrita".

Fulgencio Gil thanked the support of PSOE and Citizens in this regard, indicating that the project to be developed at the time will have the contributions of political parties, neighborhood groups and social agents to make this the Plaza de Todos.
