A total of 750 residents of Lorca, beneficiaries of the aid granted to repair the damage of earthquakes in their homes, have been served in the last two weeks by the Autonomous Community and the City Council to help them in the justification of the subsidies.
This figure represents an average attendance of 75 people a day, a figure that last week amounted to almost 100.
Most of the issues raised by the neighbors were related to the documentation to be provided in this administrative procedure of the file, the clarification of the payment documents and the deadlines for submitting the documents.
Likewise, 289 visits by the municipal technician have been requested to the works carried out in the houses to prepare the report that proves that the subsidy was destined to the repair of earthquake damages.
Of these, until now, almost everything has been done.
It is anticipated that there is a new battery of 119 that will be carried out at the initiative of the Earthquake Office itself, whose start is imminent.
We must remember that the report of the municipal technician or a competent technician can replace the invoices of the works carried out in the houses.
The General Director of Planning, Architecture and Housing, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, and the Councilor for Management for Recovery after Earthquakes at Lorca City Council, Saturnina Martínez, made a balance of the attentions made from the office to those affected by the earthquakes, and stressed that "the help and advice to the neighbors will be maintained until serving all people"
Fernández Lladó stressed that "the regional government is committed one hundred percent with the residents of Lorca to resolve and clarify all their doubts and close as soon as possible, and in the most satisfactory way, the long process of repair of earthquake damage "
The general director recalled that a total of 5,363 grants were awarded for the repair of earthquake damages in homes and that they have involved an investment of more than 32 million euros, financed 50 percent between the Autonomous Community and the Government of Spain.
He also stressed that "the Executive of Fernando López Miras demonstrated once again their solidarity and support for the victims of Lorca by canceling the accumulated interest of the reimbursement of unjustified aid, a measure that was included in the General Budgets of the Community Autonomous ", while the State Administration does charge them to the neighbors.
In this regard, the Community has already requested the Government of the Nation to exempt the residents from paying the amount corresponding to the interest of the reimbursements of the unjustified state aid and the general director advanced that will be requested again to prevent it from being applied .
