The Councilor for Family and Social Welfare of the City of Lorca, Fátima Mínguez, has reported on the investment of 165,000 euros in an agreement for the development of actions in the field of rehabilitation and socio-labor insertion of people with mental illness and / or drug addiction. this year 2018 signed between the Consistory and the Murcian Health Service.

Mínguez stressed that "our commitment to people suffering from a mental illness or problems due to drug addiction goes further through the new agreement that will allow continuity and complete the programs made available for rehabilitation, assistance and collaboration , consolidating Lorca as a solidary municipality with those who most need the help ".

The City Council has indicated that "the budget for the agreement is 165,000 euros, providing the Murcian Health Service 85,000 euros and the City Council 80,000 euros Through this investment we work in different lines that have been revealed as the ideal channels for assistance and socio-labor insertion In this sense it is necessary to emphasize that various groups are supported for the development of their projects, specifically the Nypacold Association will receive a subsidy of 22,950 euros for the development of the project "Prevention, assistance and rehabilitation of drug addicts"; It is a very beneficial project offered through this well-established association and which provides such a good service ".

"On the other hand," said Mínguez, "will be subsidized with 78,000 euros to the Murcian Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation, ISOL, to continue developing the" Program of rehabilitation and employment for people with mental illness "through the completion of pre-labor and occupational workshops on organic farming, gardening, mosaics, information technology and transversal skills for employment ".

Similarly, Mínguez added that "the City of Lorca, through the Municipal Center for Social Services, has been providing various financial assistance to cover the costs of stay and transfer to rehabilitation centers and rehabilitation therapeutic communities of drug addicts Lorca affected by this problem".

Within the framework of this agreement, from the Department of Family and Social Welfare, the Inertia Program is being developed in which 12 scholarship students participate in pre-labor practices in different municipal facilities and social entities of our municipality.

This program aims to promote the acquisition of skills that allow participating students to develop in a normalized environment and facilitate their social-labor insertion.
