The residents of Barrio, one of the most populated areas of the city, have been waiting seven years for the Popular Party to keep its word, as in 2011, when the transfer of Local Police to the Sutullena Integrated Security Center, they promised to keep a checkpoint in the vicinity of the neighborhood
The deputy spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Marisol Sánchez has proposed the installation of a "permanent" Local Police checkpoint in the Barrio area.
The mayor says that it is a neighborhood proposal, fruit in addition to a "promise unfulfilled more" by the Popular Party who, in 2011, promised to maintain a fixed catch that "still does not arrive."
The mayor asks that the location of this checkpoint, in the vicinity of the neighborhood, be "agreed" with the neighbors, opting for a space of great visibility to achieve a "marked deterrent effect."
The objective that the PSOE has with this proposal is to gain in efficiency and security, while taking a step further in the planning of citizen security in the municipality.
In fact, he assures that it is one of his government commitments.
Marisol Sánchez recalls that the population scope of the neighborhood of San Cristóbal, San Diego, Armed Forces, Los Angeles, Apolonia and Avenida Europa represents a good part of the entire population of the urban area.
However, it is the most remote area with respect to the Integrated Security Center, in Sutullena, or the Guardia Civil barracks, on the old Granada highway.
It is evident, highlights the mayor, that the Popular Party, during his years of government has punished on the neighbors of the neighborhood with a "continuous dismantling" public services as "basic and essential" for the population, such as the closure of the barracks of the Local Police, the elimination of the emergencies of San Diego or the closing of the consultations of primary attention in afternoon schedule.
The PSOE insists on the need to install this checkpoint not only with a purpose related to citizen security, but also to bring and provide thousands of neighborhood residents with any kind of administrative management, such as informing any breach related to the municipal ordinance on protection of citizen coexistence and prevention of antisocial actions, the payment of sanctions or traffic fines, among others.
The mayor also recalled that the Comprehensive Security Center, Sutullena, so far, is still not connected by public transport to any point in the city.

Sánchez Jódar recalled that the five security barracks of the Local Police installed in the districts of Lorca are still "closed lime and singing."
Without going any further, during his last visit to the hamlet of Ramonete, on the night of yesterday, the neighbors once again made clear the need to open and put into operation this center, while lamenting, in the first place, the spending public money at the time to have it "closed", and ultimately, the abandonment and discrimination that the PP maintains towards the districts.
