The Spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Diego José Mateosha returned to denounce the "dangerous" lack of cleanliness that most channels and ravines of the municipality of Lorca have.
The current accumulation of weeds, bushes and debris in public waterways makes it "severely" difficult to drain them and increases the risk of flooding.
Mateos has demanded that Gil Jódar immediately order the cleanliness and adequacy of the channels that, by reasoning in urban land, are the responsibility of the Lorca City Council, such as the river Guadalentín's own waterway or the Ramblas de las Señoritas o Las Chatas.
In the same way, he has asked that he urge the Segura Hydrographic Confederation to do the same with those sections that are of his ownership.
Judging by the lack of maintenance and the accumulation of brush, debris and rubbish that present the majority of channels and boulevards of the municipality, Mateos regrets that the current Mayor and his Popular Party team "have learned nothing" taking into account the tragic consequences of the floods of September 2012.

The Socialist Spokesman has once again insisted on the need to promote "essential" measures such as the Cleaning and Maintenance Plan for watercourses and drains, the construction of a drainage network for the conduction of water to the Rambla de Biznagao, the extension of the evacuation eyes under the Lorca-Águilas fast track. The latter have not yet begun, and have been requested on numerous occasions by the PSOE.
Similarly, the Socialists again request the completion of the current Plan of Defense Against Avenues, which must contain the construction of dams for rolling avenues in the headwaters of the Vilerda, Nogalte, Béjar and Torrecilla "to avoid flooding of wide sectors densely populated in the deputations of the orchard and the field of Lorca ".
In addition, they are again asking for the cleaning of the ancient armbands of turbid waters and that they are mostly in the hamlet of Campillo.
In what concerns the Government of Spain, Mateos maintains its level of demand, regardless of who governs, to ensure that each and every one of the works necessary to calm the concern of the population that was affected by the floods of 2012
