The Councilor for Family and Social Welfare of the City of Lorca, Fátima Mínguez, has announced that the Consistory, through this Council, has adhered to the protocol implemented by the Ministries of Family and Equal Opportunities and Health, through of the Murcian Health Service, to reinforce and improve the care provided to people who suffer from a mental illness or who have some type of drug addiction.
The aforementioned adhesion was approved by the Local Government Board a few days ago and has the objective of achieving a comprehensive intervention in cases of serious mental disorder or drug addiction in our locality.
Mínguez stressed that "this protocol is focused on citizenship and individual and collective social and health needs, prioritizing the effectiveness and efficiency of interventions made by the regional administration, through which health and social services converge in the same policy for improve the attention to the person, giving participation to the town councils within an operating structure based on professional teams and with defined functions within a geographical space that, in the case of Lorca, is determined by Area III of Health " .
"In this way, the Base Team TMG-D, a technical coordination unit for the care of people with severe mental disorders or drug dependencies, is going to be implemented, which constitutes a formalized instrument of relationship between the social services, health services, the third sector and others, closer to the citizen for the proper management of those cases that require successive or simultaneous intervention of the services of these different sectors described above.In each of these teams will be represented the Mental Health Center, the Rehabilitation Unit of Mental Health, Social Services Centers of Primary Care, IMAS and Primary Health Centers "has specified the Edil.
In the same way, a Coordination Committee of TMG-D of the Health Area will be created as a technical management tool assigned to the Area Management, at the head of which there will be a coordinator.
The City of Lorca, after adhering to the aforementioned socio-health coordination protocol, will provide the participation of four technicians of the Department of Family and Social Welfare who will participate directly in the committees;
In the same way, the head of Social Services will also attend the commissions and coordination meetings in order to carry out a detailed follow-up and bring the experience of the local administration to the success of the new tools.
