The Councilor for Sports of the City of Lorca, Juan Miguel Bayonas, has presented with Miguel Ángel Moreno, one of the organizers of the race, the IV BXM Race 'Sierra del Gigante', scheduled for Sunday, August 26 and organized by Ciclosenderista Club El Gigante.

Bayonas has detailed that "this fourth edition of the Sierra del Gigante BXM Race is scheduled to start on Sunday, August 26 from 9:00, scoring for the III FasterWear BXM Murcia Region Cup. km, with an accumulated difference of 2240 meters (1120 positives), 12.5 km of paths, 3 mountain passes with 14.1 km of ascent, the exit and the finish will be installed in the Plaza de la Iglesia de La Parroquia. A circuit, in which, according to the organizers, the participants will have to "combine strength and technique in some sections to emerge victorious".
In the BxM Sierra del Gigante 2018 there will be three ports with quite hard ramps, in the first two, with the hardest ramps at the beginning, the Los Machos, 5.5 kilometers and 470 meters of altitude, and Carasoles, 3 kilometers and 180 meters of difference, the third, the one of Los Quemaos, of 3.5 kilometers and 350 meters of difference, and with the hard part in the final part of the port.
From the Cycling Club El Gigante confirm "the presence of the winner of the III race BxM Sierra del Gigante 2017, Alejandro Ortigosa Sanchez, this year running with the LEMON Team, and will fight to win the overall test defending the first place of the year past".
