The spokesman of IU-Green in the City council of Lorca, Pedro Sosa, has added to the disappointment of the neighbors of Campillo and Torrecilla before the announcement that the dams of lamination against floods of Lorca will not be constructed until the year 2022.
Sosa has described as "recklessness" that, six years after the San Wenceslao flood, which caused five deaths and multimillion-dollar damages, the vegetable garden of Lorca continues to be "equally vulnerable" to an avenue.
"We can not wait for the Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura to offer solutions a decade after that terrible tragedy and it will take five more years for the construction of the three rolling dams planned in the Avenues Plan," denounced the IU councilor.
Sosa has criticized the statements of the president of the CHS, Mario Urrea, who has said that "if there is money" could begin the construction of any of these dams within five years.
In this regard Sosa regretted that the Ministry for Ecological Transition "racanee" in the safety of people and in the protection of property and the means by which farmers and ranchers in the Lorca vegetable garden earn their living.
"Every time it rains the neighbors feel terrified because six years ago they lost everything and there was no help afterwards so they could recover normalcy in their lives," he said.
In this regard, he noted the lack of commitment of the PSOE, who recalled his eagerness to reclaim when the PP was in the government of Spain, "and that has now lowered since the arrival of Pedro Sanchez to Moncloa."
Sosa expressed his satisfaction that Urrea has met with the neighbors, something that his predecessors never did, but it has shamed the PSOE that has "vetoed" the United Left in the meeting that the Delegate of the Government and the president of the CHS maintained with the neighbors last week.
"We had hoped that the change in the government would change some bad habits, such as not inviting all the municipal groups to visits by high-ranking state officials, but we sadly see how they act like the PP," he said.
"They use these public positions as if they were the exclusive patrimony of their party, restricting the participation and access to information of the legitimate representatives of Lorca," he lamented in this regard.
Finally, even recognizing as "positive" that the regional government will undertake in the autumn the expansion of the drainage system of roads RM-11 (Lorca-Águilas) and RM-621 (Lorca-Purias), which cross the Rambla de Biznaga, Sosa said that "they are late" and that Lorca can not wait "a week more" to be protected before the avenues.
