The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, will be responsible for pronouncing on September 6 at 9 pm the proclamation of the festivities that will take place in the Plaza Sabio.

The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, and the representative of the Festival Committee of the Virgen de las Huertas, Luis Gonzalez, presented this morning the festive program of the Patron and the poster of the Fair Girl, which will be held from 6 to September 9 in the surroundings of the Employer's Sanctuary and will include more than 25 fun-festive events.
The program of activities will begin on Thursday 6 at 11:00 am with the parade of the participating groups in the XXIX International Festival of Folklore Virgen de las Huertas, which will have an outlet in the Visitor Center with arrival to the Lorca Consistory, where 12:00 hours will be received by the First Edil of the city.
In the afternoon, at 7:00 pm, the cake contest organized by the Virgen de las Huertas Women's Association will take place in the Plaza del Rey Sabio.
At 9:30 p.m., the Mayor of Lorca and neighbor of the neighborhood, Fulgencio Gil, will be in charge of delivering the proclamation of the patron saint festivities, which will take place at the Plaza Rey Sabio.
At 21:15 hours the Brisca Contest will take place at the Local Social Virgen de las Huertas.
Finally, at 9:30 p.m., the XXVII International Folklore Festival "Virgen de las Huertas" will be inaugurated in the Plaza Rey Sabio.
On Friday, September 7 at 9:30 p.m., the Plaza del Rey Sabio will host the closing ceremony of the XXIX International Folklore Festival "Virgen de las Huertas".
Then, around 11 pm, the traditional crumb contest will be held in front of the social center of the neighborhood.

That same day, after the procession, there will be a massive Jota to Santa María la Real de las Huertas.
At 11 o'clock in the evening at the Plaza Sabio will take place the concert of the famous artist Coti.
At 12:30 a.m., the group of the Marx Brothers' Stateroom will perform.
For the day of Sunday, September 9, the program will begin at 10 am with the IV Memorial cycle "Clemente Martínez Munuera", departing from the old Puente de Vallecas.
At 2:00 pm the Los Cristales bar will offer a tasting of rice dishes at the playground.
The social premises Virgen de las Huertas will host the Remigio Contest at 5:00 p.m.
The afternoon will be dedicated to the little ones with the realization of traditional children's games and the theater "The little white rabbit".
At 8:30 p.m. there will be the XVI Modern Dance Contest "Patrona de Lorca", which will be followed, as an end to the festivities, by Copla Night, by the local artist Marisol Segura.
Both the children's and the musical events will take place in the Plaza del rey Sabio. At 11:30 p.m., the traditional Fireworks Castle will be recovered.
