The Socialists are demanding urgent action in the face of the numerous problems detected in the surroundings of the Hermitage after carrying out, together with the neighbors, a visit to it, and warn of the proliferation of the phenomenon known as "botellón", which is causing a great deterioration of its image, in addition to the consequent discomfort among the neighbors.

The Deputy Speaker of the Municipal Socialist Group in the City of Lorca, María Soledad Sánchez Jódar has claimed the Government Team of the Popular Party in the City of Lorca "urgent actions of cleaning and maintenance that result in a dignified treatment of the neighbors of the Calvario neighborhood and the environment of its hermitage, who only demand minimal maintenance to avoid the laziness that presents by the nonexistent management of the Lorca City Council ".

The socialist mayor, has expressed the "urgent need shown by this emblematic area of ​​a cleanup" that, first, avoid the risk more than possible to have to regret personal injuries given the danger of some areas, in addition to palm trees and dry vegetation in the park environment with risk of falling as well as traffic signs and broken streetlights, poorly fixed and, in some cases, supported by improvised fixing systems made by the neighbors themselves, and secondly because it is one of the most important areas of our Holy Week.

In this sense also, Sánchez Jódar has warned of the proliferation in the environment of the Ermita del Calvario phenomenon known as "botellón" and that is generating discomfort among the neighbors while degrading the area by leaps and bounds.

"The neighbors - laments the mayor - meet in the mornings, next to the remains of the bottle, a trail of urine and excrement deposited by those who perform this practice."

For this reason in particular, Sánchez Jódar has demanded that urgently "action be taken with the increase of the police presence in order to eliminate this practice and that the municipal ordinance is complied with in this respect".

The Socialist councilor claims and insists that these urgent actions "result in an increase in cleanliness and an improvement in the conditions in which the environment of the Hermitage and Calvary Park is currently located", and it adds - adds - "a periodic maintenance ", not only for the celebration of Holy Week, to prevent them from falling into the state of abandonment currently present," and do not have to give the circumstance, as we inform the neighbors themselves, who are having to be "themselves" who, faced with the carelessness and passivity of those responsible for the municipal government, "are having to take care of minimal maintenance, so we demand more and better attention to these neighbors, so that they do not continue to be treated in this discriminatory way. "
