The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, and the president of the Royal Virgen de las Huertas Brotherhood, Isabel Giménez, have announced this morning the program of the acts that on the occasion of the feast of the Patron of Lorca, on September 8 , has promoted this group in collaboration with the Department of Culture of the City Council, and will recover this year one of its ancient traditions: the Bando.
Fulgencio Gil explained that "as it appears from the program, the events will begin on August 30 with the celebration every day at 8:00 pm of a Eucharist and the novena in honor of the Virgen de las Huertas. Subsequently, masses will be celebrated at 7, 8, 9 and 10 in the morning, with different choirs from the city taking part in them.
At 12 o'clock the Major Mass will be celebrated by the Episcopal Vicar, Fr Francisco Fructuoso Andrés, with the assistance of the Municipal Corporation under clubs and other authorities, as well as the participation of the Lorca Chorus and Dance group.
The program will close at 7:00 p.m. with the Holy Mass and subsequent procession (8:00 p.m.) with the Sacred Image of our Patron, in which the Municipal Band of Music, Choirs and Dances will participate. Virgen de las Huertas y Coros and Dances of Lorca.
