The Councilor for Tourism of the City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, announced this morning the celebration of the Beach Clean 2018 that will be held in Cala de Calnegre next Sunday, September 2.
This is an environmental activity that is scheduled following the award of the blue flag to this beach, the first in the municipality of Lorca.
The mayor pointed out that "the achievement last year and the revalidation of the blue flag has been an achievement for Lorca, as well as a recognition of the great state of Calnegre's beaches and services, but the award criteria entail the implementation of March of a series of initiatives aimed at promoting values ​​of respect for the environment and sustainability Each year a minimum of 5 activities have to be planned, either at the initiative of the city council itself, or by different groups or social agents. for the Beach Clean proposal. "
Beach Clean 2018 will be held on Sunday, September 2 at 6 pm at Cala de Calnegre itself and will propose fun games of environmental awareness and respect for the state of our beaches, aimed at the general population and especially the children.
Participants will be able to register as of 17.30 hours next to the blue flag itself;
In the case of minors, it will be the parents who will represent them for the purposes of registration.
The development of the activity will be marked by monitors, who will explain the purpose and operation of it.
After the sound of a whistle the participants will have 5 minutes to collect all the garbage present on the beach until it is clean.
At the end of the 5 minutes, which will be signaled with 2 whistle blows, the participants will approach with the retired to the garbage collection point, where the participation will be confirmed.
Montiel stressed that "in addition to participating in an initiative of environmental value promoting the cleanliness of our beaches and raising awareness, users who take part in it will enter the draw for visits to the Castle of Lorca and a stay for 2 people in the hostel of Puntas de Calnegre to continue enjoying this wonderful monumental environment of the municipality of Lorca ".
