The ONCE Foundation roadshow "This opportunity does not happen every day" comes to Lorca to bring young people with disabilities to work (06/09/2018)

This initiative on wheels can be visited in the Alameda de la Constitución from the 6th to the 8th of September, from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm, being Saturday only in the morning.

Visitors who wish to register will have to carry the disability certificate of degree equal to or greater than 33%, the certificate of registration as a job seeker and the DNI

The Councilors of Local Development and Family and Social Welfare of the City of Lorca, Sandra Martínez and Fátima Mínguez, attended this morning with the Regional Director of Insert Employment in the Region of Murcia, Delia Torralba, to the presentation of the roadshow "No te render never "launched by the ONCE Foundation.

The roadshow "Do not give up ever" can be visited in the Alameda de la Constitución from today until September 8 from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm, Saturday only in the morning.

In addition, this itinerant tour will have 4 mobile units that will be traveling simultaneously in the Spanish territory and will be located for 2 to 4 days in the locations chosen for each location.

This initiative is integrated into the plan for the inclusion of young people with disabilities in the "Activa Tu Talento" project, within the framework of execution of the Youth Employment Operative Program (POEJ) co-financed by the European Social Fund.

Its objective is to attract 5,000 unemployed young people between 16 and 29 years old from all Spanish territory who have a disability certificate equal to or greater than 33%, and provide them with resources to improve their employability.

The registration of candidatures will be made through the portal Noterindasnunca.org.

The itinerant information offices will be staffed with the necessary areas to inform young people who visit them of all the resources available to them to train and respond to the current job demand of companies in our country.

These mobile units have a group space for the development of workshops, as well as a private area for individual interviews and a work area for the registration of candidates.

Visitors who wish to register will have to carry the disability certificate of degree equal to or greater than 33%, the registration certificate as job seeker and the DNI.

Visitors can participate in four types of activities.

The workshop "The attitude that drives me" will be oriented to understand one's attitude from a mental, emotional and bodily perspective, through motivational talks and theatrical games.

In the workshop "Unique and diverse talents", the candidate will have to recognize his personal and professional talents, investigating the things in which he stands out, in his passions and professional orientation.

The workshop "The power of a vision" will be aimed at generating a 5-year career path for the candidate and help him identify where he wants to get professionally through dynamics such as art therapy.

Finally, the workshop "Start the adventure" will be aimed at helping the group of young people with disabilities to write their CV in a way that awakens the interest of companies and, for this, they will perform theatrical games with costumes, use musical instruments, etc.

Specifically, in the Region of Murcia there are currently 7,700 unemployed persons with disabilities out of a total of 21,200 employed, which represents 36.3%.

The total number of contracts for young people under 25 in this community, from January 2016 to June 2018, is 773. On the other hand, the number of Murcian youth between 16 and 29 years old is 4,300 (6.4%), out of a total of 78,900 people belonging to the disability collective.
