A hundred images of Lorca are part of an itinerant photographic exhibition dedicated to the elderly of the day centers and residences (12/09/2018)

This initiative launched by the Department of Family and Social Welfare has the support of Fotolorca Photographic Association, Club Senderista La Carrasca, Fotosenderos of the Region of Murcia, Cajamurcia Foundation and the Municipal Archive, which have provided photographic material in digital format to prepare the exhibition and make a catalog of different photographic themes

The Councilor for Family and Social Welfare of the City of Lorca, Fátima Mínguez, opened this morning an itinerant photographic exhibition composed of a hundred images of different themes: memory, beauty and natural landscapes of Lorca and photographs of solidarity, which will travel the different centers day and residences of our city for the enjoyment of our elders.

Fátima Mínguez pointed out that "this is a new initiative that we implement from the City Council to provide the largest dependent of our municipality that are in residences or day centers access to cultural activities to maintain their link to culture , since these recipients, due to their degrees of dependency, have more and more difficulties to enjoy the cultural assets of our city ".

The Councilor for Family and Social Welfare explained that "the objectives of this activity are to expand the offer and socio-educational resources of our elders by adapting them to their circumstances, to bring access to cultural assets through photography to dependent persons and to favor the reminiscence through the memories that can be provided by the visualization of old photographs ".

Mínguez added that "the recipients of this exhibition will be the biggest ones in the IMAS Day Center, Poncemar Day Center, Alzheimer's Association, Parkinson Association, as well as the residences of San Diego, Caser and Domingo Sastre."

The Councilor for Family and Social Welfare has indicated that "to carry out this initiative we have had the collaboration of various groups that have provided us with photographic material in digital format to prepare the exhibition and make a catalog of different photographic themes. they have participated giving the images Fotolorca Photographic Association, Club Senderista La Carrasca, Fotosenderos of the Region of Murcia and the Municipal Archive.In addition, we also want to thank the Cajamurcia Foundation for their collaboration in this project, because thanks to them they have been able to materialize in cardboard pen of different sizes the photographs ".

Fátima Mínguez recalled that "from the Mayor's Council we have carried out other photographic exhibitions that have had a great acceptance by this group and that were" Young people, seniors and trades "," Holy Week, a look at my past "and" Images of our times-Valera Photos. "These were made on the occasion of the Cultural Week of the Major and those attending the courses of photographs launched by the Lorca Consistory in various municipal offices."
