To speak of Padel in Lorca and in the Region of Murcia is to do it of the Intersport Zurano de Pádel Tournament.
And this is because this competition has been growing in parallel with this sport in our municipality and throughout the community.
From its origins, discovered by a few innovators, to the boom and its subsequent consolidation as a very practiced sport in our geography.
This weekend the tracks of the Tennis Club Los Alamos hosted the eleventh edition of the Intersport that brought together 60 couples in 5 categories of play.
Players Lorca and populations throughout the Region, as well as neighboring provinces, took part in the event that also promotes coexistence, as from the organization know how to provide the best framework for players and attendees enjoy the appointment throughout the end of week.
The tournament started on Friday afternoon, having to fight during the day on Saturday with the inclement weather.
In fact they had to use the two indoor tracks that Los Alamos have and thanks to it the tournament could be speeded up so that it did not exceed the end of the week.
Sunday was the reigning day, with the celebration of the finals that dictated a sentence to crown the champions of this prestigious tournament and which were held during the morning and midday.
As for the winners, in the 1st male category the victory went to Sergio Mouliaá and Domingo Barnés, with José Wasas and Jaime Carrasco in second place.
In the 2nd male category gold was conquered by the couple formed by Nata and Paco;
the silver in this category went to Paco Mouliaá and Martín.
In the 3rd male the winners were the brothers Antonio and Diego Belver, who won Raul and Rodri in the final.
As for the women's classification, in the 2nd category they won Noelia Teruel and Lidia, with Marta and Andrea Mula second.
In the 3rd female category the champions were Esmeralda and Irene, being runners-up Korina and Cristina.
