The aids to those affected by the Lorca earthquake were addressed at the meeting between Pedro Sánchez and Fernando López Miras.

In addition to the aid already planned, the Government of Spain foresees a new agreement with a government contribution of five million euros and the extension of the terms provided in the current agreements.

The Spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has celebrated the forecast of the Government of Spain to sign a new agreement with a state contribution of 5 million euros to expedite the payment of aid still pending for those affected by earthquakes , as announced by President Pedro Sánchez in a meeting with the regional president Fernando López Miras.

Mateos assures that this is great news for those who, more than seven years after the tragic tragedy, continue to wait for the payment of the aid, both for the rent and for the repair and / or reconstruction of their homes, promised for years by the previous government.

In this way, the new Government intends to streamline the payment of the pending amounts retained by the previous state administration, as well as to make the conditions of the current agreements more flexible by extending them.

Mateos recalled that today many families in Lorca have not yet been able to recover normalcy in their lives, since they have not been able to repair all of the material damage caused by the May 2011 earthquakes, due among others circumstances, to the dozens of requests for rent extensions that are still pending.

This announcement by the Government of Spain, to expedite the payment of outstanding aid to those affected by the earthquakes is in addition to the request made a week ago by the Minister of Public Works, José Luis Ábalos, to the regional President himself so that, As soon as possible, convene a meeting of the Mixed Commission for the earthquakes of Lorca, from which the solution should be based, which, on the other hand, await those affected by the return of the aid for earthquakes.

"The solution that these families expect must come from the loyal and necessary collaboration between the three administrations: City Council, Autonomous Community and Ministry of Development."
