The PSOE requires Gil Jódar to work to solve the school transport problems that affect more than 40 families in Campillo (26/09/2018)

Mazuecos returns to demand the reinforcement of the school transport line with a second bus provided by the Lorca City Council, and of course, the creation of a safe route for schoolchildren through the arrangement of roads RM-D10 and RM-D12 .

The councilor of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Maria Angeles Mazuecos has again asked Gil Jódar to work to solve the problems of school transport that since last year affect more than forty families in the hamlet of Campillo.

Mazuecos demands Gil Jódar not to continue in profile before a situation that has become "unsustainable".

"Where is this Mayor when it comes to demanding solutions to the regional government of his colleagues from the Popular Party?" He says.

Mazuecos ensures that this situation has once again revealed the inability of this Mayor and his team of councilors, faced with a problem that could have been solved directly by the City Council, through the recent municipalization of the public transport service.

The PSOE requested that, on an exceptional basis, a reinforcement of municipal urban transport could be allocated for emergency situations such as the one presented by Campillo.

"Not only have they not been able to listen to our proposal to give a solution from the municipal transport service, but they have not made the arrangements with the Autonomous Community, nor to change the school transport regulations of the CARM nor to get fix the roads, "says the mayor.

While the PP denies a solution to this problem, more than forty families continue to be forced, to access the school, to travel on roads that do not meet the necessary measures to ensure pedestrian safety, such as verges or due signs.

Those who do not have the possibility of accessing the school with a private vehicle, have no choice but to walk a half-hour trip and return, through unbuilt roads, for hundreds of meters, and even cross the road fast Lorca-Eagles with the danger that entails passing next to areas where the speeds of the vehicles are high.

"We are talking about children from 3 to 12 years old, whom this administration is exposing to a dangerous situation, in addition to the inclement weather, to attend their school," he says.

The mayor adds that the solution to the current problem happens, first order, to achieve the improvement of pedestrian accessibility of roads D-10 and D-12, with the aim of achieving a safe route for schoolchildren and neighbors of Campillo, of access to the educational center.

A proposal that the PSOE has already raised, through motions to the Plenary and written, on numerous occasions.

"It is the Ministry of Public Works that must respond, immediately, to this neighborhood need."

Meanwhile, and waiting for the adequacy of these roads, demand the reinforcement of the school transport line with a second bus, provided by the City of Lorca, to accommodate all students to avoid being exposed to danger daily.
