Ciudadanos Lorca requires the Mayor to act immediately and solve the danger situation for pedestrians and neighbors of an abandoned building of the Virgen de las Huertas (28/09/2018)

Lorca, Friday, September 28 -.

The technical report requested on June 29 to the urban planning services recognizes "the situation of danger to users of public roads".

In the same report issued on September 5, 2018, it establishes urgent measures for immediate action within a maximum period of 5 days to its owners.

And if they do not, they will be executed by the City Council at the expense of property ownership.

Councilman Antonio Meca requires the Mayor "immediate action in that building and an end to the danger to which pedestrians and residents of that area are exposed for 7 years."

On June 29 Citizens submitted a letter addressed to Mr. Mayor requesting a report from the competent technical services about the real situation of a three-storey building that is located in the neighborhood of the Virgen de las Huertas, specifically in the callejón del Moro, which presents a possible risk of collapse.

In fact, it is supported by struts (fewer and fewer because they are stolen) and fractures and cracks can be seen in the structure that can cause the collapse of the building with the consequent danger for neighbors, pedestrians and other citizens who transit through the area.

"We have news that in its time and after the earthquakes of 2011, it was advisable to demolish it and that it has not been attended to by its owners," explains Edil.

In response to this writing, the Councilor Saturnina Martinez believes that "additional measures of an urgent nature must be adopted to avoid the danger to users of public roads."

Also, the report of the state of the property made by the Department of Urban Planning indicates that "the circumstances of the property affect the security conditions and public adornment" and gives a series of instructions indicating that these actions "must be carried out within a period of 5 days".

This same report adds that if the necessary works are not carried out, the City Council must act ex officio and execute them at the expense of the ownership of the property.
