The Lorca socialists ask the PP not to repeat the same mistakes as in other neighborhoods and not punish neighbors and merchants with a new elimination of places for parking vehicles.
The PSOE insists that it is possible to reconcile accessibility and pedestrian mobility with the conservation of spaces for parking
Following the announcement by the Regional Government of new works on Avenida Europa, the councilor of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Antonio Navarro has demanded that Mayor Gil Jódar not repeat the same mistakes as in other neighborhoods to not punish neighbors and merchants with a new elimination of parking spaces for vehicles.
"Every time the Popular Party announces works and promises to improve accessibility, what brings with it is the elimination of dozens of parking spaces, as it has done with most works in the city," warns the mayor.
Navarro has shown his concern about the fact that the PP wants to do in this important artery of Lorca the same thing that he did, for example, in Alameda de Cervantes, where they said that only one parking space would be lost.
On the verge of finishing the works, up to 201 car parks are counted in Alameda de Cervantes, punishing neighbors and merchants.
To prevent this from happening again, the PSOE have requested the PP in writing to deliver a copy of the project, in order to supervise the project.
In this sense, they hope not to have to resort this time to justice, as has happened to be able to access the work file of Avenida Juan Carlos I.
Navarro asks that the commitment made with the shops and users of Avenida de Europa be taken into account and that it be respected with all the consequences, in order to keep in mind that the subsistence of the shops in the area depends on the fact that they still have such parking.
