The day of Saturday in the 40 Sports Games of the Guadalentín was going to be carried out by the sport in aquatic half.
And it is that at the same time the two covered municipal pools of Lorca were going to host showy tournaments that demonstrated, once again, the good time that our municipality lives in terms of pool sports.
At 1730 hours the swimming pool of the Felipe VI Sports Complex hosted a synchronized swimming exhibition organized by the Lorca Swimming Club and in which 56 swimmers from both Lorca and Puerto Lumbreras, Huércal Overa and Pulpí participated, who showed plenty of talent in a modality that requires so much effort.
The participants competed in solos, duets, combos and mixed combos, in different categories, earning the applause of the many attendees and acting as real professionals of the modality.
But if we talk about the public we have to do it from the people who packed the stands of the Pool of San Antonio to enjoy a great competition: the VIII City of Lorca Swimming Trophy that brought together 368 swimmers from 15 regional clubs and Alfa Alicante of Torrevieja.
The tournament started at 5:00 pm, competing swimmers from the pre-benjamin, junior, junior, junior, and absolute categories, both in men's and women's categories, while the relays were 4x50 styles.
As for the master category, the swimmers competed in 50 free and 50 breaststroke.
In total an event with 50 different tests of all kinds that filled the municipal pool with excitement.
And finally, the delivery of medals to the winners in charge of the Councilor for Sports of the Lorca Consistory, Juan Miguel Bayonas.
Special mention must be made to the general classification in which the Fuensanta Swimming Club was imposed.
Second on this occasion was the Cartagena Swimming Club, while the third best team was the Lorca Swimming Club.
