The Deputy Spokesperson of the Government Team of the Municipality of Lorca, Fátima Mínguez, has demanded that the Government of Spain unblock the works that are being executed in the Camino Marín area as soon as possible.
We have been paralyzed for more than 4 months, with the consequent loss for all the residents of the area.
We are talking about an action for which we have been working for years, until we were able to find the financing that was required, the project that most benefited the people and the attainment of all the permits of the different entities that were necessary.
As all Lorca can see the ambitious improvement intervention that is running in Alameda de Cervantes thanks to the support of the Regional Government of Fernando López Miras, through the Ministry of Development, are ending.
In fact, there is very little time left for the residents of this popular Lorca enclave to have a completely improved urban area, correcting the problems that it presented, as it has been the case of the evacuation of rainwater to avoid flooding in case of episodes of heavy rainfall , especially in the area of ​​the crossing of the Cat, in addition to the elimination of the aforementioned crossing, which was one of the points that had to be reformed to increase the safety of road traffic and the passage of the pedestrians themselves, besides suppressing the great existing difference between urbanization La Isla and the Alameda de Cervantes road.
We have transferred the existing concern to both Adif and the Government Delegation, since we believe that what was originally considered as a temporary suspension has been largely overcome, that we observe how it has become a serious obstacle to completing the integral transformation of area.
Among other issues, the unblocking of this incidence would mean that the neighbors could have almost 90 parking spaces, as well as enabling the opening of a new internal communication channel of this area of ​​the city, which will link Alameda de Cervantes with Camino Marín, running parallel to the train track.
It is a new creation road widely demanded by the residents of the area and that would contribute significantly to the flow of traffic.
According to the calculations transferred by the technicians responsible for the work, this block affects the planning and improvement of more than 4,000 m2.
What we demand from the City Council is that they reach an agreement and arbitrate a solution that allows us to resume the works and conclude them in the shortest possible time.
This is a matter of mere common sense, since at this point, we know that the intervention underway does not affect the information study for the urban integration of the AVE, which is why Lorca is suffering a double loss, since while it is being delayed the presentation of this study, are also preventing us from executing projects such as Camino Marín.
We are playing losing an estimated investment of approximately 130,000 euros.
