The PSOE offers free advice to help Lorca families to renew the social social bond (17/10/2018)

Andrea Periago asks the City Council of Lorca to be directly involved in the promotion and dissemination of the electric social bond.

"We do not want to think that the governing team of the Popular Party, with its Mayor at the head, was refusing to give this good measure and help it reach the people because it is a measure that has gone ahead thanks to the Government of Spain, of the Socialist Party. "

The councilor of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Andrea Periago has called for the development, through the Department of Consumption, of an information and advisory campaign with the aim of informing and helping users who last year were eligible for the bonus electric society to renew it and can return to qualify for this measure.

For its part, the PSOE will also offer free advice at its party offices in Plaza Real, and the Municipal Socialist Group in the City of Lorca.

The PSOE wants the largest number of Lorca homes are aware that the Government of Spain has extended until December 31 the deadline to renew the social bond to those consumers who were hosted by the old, which ended this October 8, within the Royal decree-law of urgent measures against energy poverty that they recently approved.

Periago has stressed that those who request this bonus and have not renewed it should know that they have two and a half months more to be able to request it.

The Social Bonus is an electricity tariff for people with limited economic resources, which is difficult and in many cases impossible to pay the electricity bill of their homes.

"A small relief for people in a more precarious economic situation", points out the mayor.

It is a discount on the electricity bill of 25% for vulnerable consumers, 40% for vulnerable vulnerable consumers who meet the established requirements or, if applicable, if it is a consumer at risk of social exclusion, because it is being served by the services social networks that pay at least 50% of the bill, will not have to face the electricity bill and, in case of temporary impossibility to pay, the power supply can not be interrupted.

In addition, Andrea Periago has reported that the new decree approved by the Government prevents cutting the electricity supply in homes under the electric social bond in which there is at least one child under 16 years.

A measure that is extended to households where at least one person with a level of disability of 33% or higher resides, or a person in a situation of dependency in grade II and III.

These circumstances, which must be evaluated and accredited by certificates issued by social services, were not contemplated in the previous regulation of the bonus.

Likewise, so that single-parent families can access the social bonus, specific income criteria are determined for these groups, which are more susceptible to the risk of energy poverty if possible, especially in the case of women, since 85% of the Single-parent households have a mother in front.

With the reform of the electric social bond announced by the Government of Spain, not only is the term extended to be eligible for it, but the discount is increased, and brings new and better conditions for the retired, for single-parent families and also for dependents

However, from the PSOE lack in Lorca greater promotion of this initiative and greater efforts by the City of Lorca, as the closest administration, "to advise and help families Lorca to qualify for this bonus" .

The mayor stressed that "in many homes, do not apply despite having the right to it, in most cases for lack of knowledge of their existence."

"We do not want to think that the governing team of the Popular Party, with its Mayor at the head, was refusing to give this good measure and help it reach the people simply because it is a measure that has gone forward thanks to the Government of Spain, the Socialist Party, "says the socialist mayor.

Periago has insisted that the fight against poverty requires a collective effort.

That is why today, on the occasion of the International Day against Poverty, they inform that they are available to the families of Lorca to help them with regard to counseling, so that it is easier for them to opt for this social electric bond.

At the same time, they ask the Mayor to do the same, be up to the task, so that he works and makes available the necessary human and technical resources of the town hall to publicize this measure promoted by the Government of Spain so beneficial for families most vulnerable lorquinas.
