96 students of 4th and 5th of the CEIP Pasico-Campillo participated in the morning of yesterday in the experience that aims to assess the knowledge of schoolchildren to improve the teaching units taught within the Road Education campaign developed by the City of Lorca

The Councilor for Citizen Security of the City of Lorca, Bethlehem Perez, has announced the implementation of a new strategy in the field of road education that aims to improve the way in which this important competence is taught in schools in the municipality of Lorca.

Pérez has pointed out that "every year we develop from the Department of Public Safety and from Local Police an extensive road education campaign that aims to improve the knowledge of Lorca students on this fundamental issue for their day to day. it is to do it in security, in citizenship, in the improvement of the displacements by the streets and roads of the city, and that has to be a priority in the formation of young Lorca ".

With regard to the new strategy implemented, the mayor has indicated that "we want to improve the way in which knowledge is imparted and for this we have launched a pioneering system to detect where we need to influence more." Through this experience, the 4th and 5th year students of Primary Education, who are those who start off in solitary displacements, without adults or even in their own means such as bicycles or skates, have answered a test that will allow us to know their previous knowledge in the From the Administrative Unit of the Local Police, all the results will be evaluated to improve the way in which the teachings in Road Education are imparted, with special emphasis on those areas that are less known by the students ".

The first experience took place on the morning of Wednesday at the CEIP Pasico-Campillo, with the participation of 96 students from 4th and 5th grade of Primary, who completed the tests with the different questions on travel and signaling.

Subsequently, the young people received the first lessons from the Local Police agents who develop the Road Safety campaigns.

Perez added that "in the next few weeks we will visit some other school, in this case the urban center, to repeat the experience and take a greater sample of results, with all of them we will adapt and perfect the didactic units of development and information to be able to impart the principles on Road Safety in the most appropriate way ".
