The PP rejects the proposal of the PSOE to create a basis to regulate the granting of subsidies granted by the City of Lorca for the celebration of parties in neighborhoods and districts (29/10/2018)

In addition to refusing to establish an objective basis to regulate the granting of aid for the organization of popular festivals in neighborhoods and districts, the Popular Party confirms in the Plenary that prefers a Lorca "back to culture", rejecting the proposals of the PSOE , which included the celebration of a festival of theater of the Golden Age and the first contest of monologues of the Region in the city of the Sun

The Spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has regretted that the Mayor and his team of PP councilors have missed the opportunity to join the proposal that the Lorca socialists made to regulate the granting of municipal aid for the celebration of popular festivities in neighborhoods and districts based on a series of "objective" criteria, which prevent them from being granted according to the personal and partisan preferences of the Mayor or the councilor on duty.

Mateos assures that the Mayor and his councilors have shown that they feel more comfortable granting these grants as they have been doing during the last years, instead of starting to be done through "objective and rational" bases with which to regulate the granting of these aids.

During the Plenary, Mateos has ensured that the granting of these grants "can not follow the decision of the Mayor or the councilor of celebrations of turn, personal preferences or directly the electoral expectations they have regarding a few districts or others".

Mateos ensures that the current form applied by the City of Lorca at the time of granting these grants is far from the parameters of transparency and equality, and generates "discrimination" between neighborhoods and districts.

The PSOE proposal, which has been joined by the other opposition parties, but has had the rejection of the Popular Party established that the granting of these grants begins to be awarded based on "objective" criteria as be, depending on the duration of the holidays, the age of the same or the existence of support, to a greater or lesser extent by the business fabric of each neighborhood or district.

The PP against that Lorca may be the first city in the region to hold a contest of monologues

Mateos regretted that the Popular Party has once again shown its systematic rejection, as usual, to overthrow another proposal of the PSOE in cultural matters.

Specifically, the PP has rejected the proposals of the PSOE to hold a festival of Spanish Silgo de Oro theater, and that Lorca may become the first city in the region in which a monologue contest is held.

"The PP prefers Lorca with its back to culture," says Mateos.
