The initiative has promoted the inclusion of 15 people in situations of social vulnerability through training in basic concepts of family and domestic economy.

The Councilor for Family and Social Welfare of the City of Lorca, Fátima, the volunteer of "la Caixa", Manuel Soriano, and the business area director of CaixaBank in Lorca, Javier Aznar, have recognized the success of the Basic Financial Education Workshop , given by the Association of Volunteers of "la Caixa" on October 9 and 16 at the Local Development Center of the city.

Fátima Mínguez pointed out that "this course has been aimed at people at risk of vulnerability, training promotes social inclusion by making basic knowledge of home economics available to all people." More than 15 attendees at the workshop were able to resolve their doubts on family economics, addressing the foundations of the domestic economy with guidelines and tips to optimize the management of resources available in the home ".

Councilor for Social Welfare added that "the success of this informative training has determined that it is assessing the realization of a new call." The training content of this course is divided into two thematic blocks: "Manage your economy", where, between others, are given the keys to the management and control of family budget, financial planning, savings and debt, and "Your bank and you", focused on basic banking operations, such as checking accounts, cards and loans.

Mínguez stressed that "this project shows once again the commitment of the City Council to those who need it most by searching for new formulas that contribute to helping families in Lorca, and, in this particular case, to the families most in need. they learn to optimize their economy, both institutions, City Council and la Caixa, we have defined a joint service portfolio that allows responding to the needs of Lorca homes and optimize the economic resources allocated to these families, therefore, we must highlight our appreciation to the Obra Social "la Caixa", whose work in favor of the most needy extends throughout Spain, and without which we would not have been able to launch this project ".

For his part, Manuel Soriano, volunteer of "la Caixa", explained that "it is essential that anyone has access to a minimum financial knowledge that allows you to make informed decisions and manage your economy in the best possible way. very satisfactory, since the workshop assistants are great economists, since with scarce resources they try to cover their needs, they are forced to apply the methodology in an intuitive way ".
