The PSOE organizes an information table to advise Lorca on the waiting list on how they can claim to advance their medical appointment (02/11/2018)

Area III of health brings together more than 50% of patients who remain on the waiting list without an assigned date for the first consultation with their specialist doctor.

In addition, 7,667 users also wait without an assigned date to perform tests and diagnostic techniques.

The socialist deputy spokesman in the City of Lorca, Marisol Sánchez Jódar has announced that the PSOE has organized, for next Wednesday, November 7, an information table to offer Lorca who are on the waiting list for health, legal and health advice on how they have to claim for the Murcian Health Service forward their medical appointment, based on Decree 25/2006 that establishes the maximum waiting times and guarantees in case of delays.

The talk, which will have the presence of health professionals from area III health and also a lawyer, will be at the Cultural Center of the city of Lorca, at 20:00 hours.

Sánchez Jódar has indicated that, once again, the PSOE takes the initiative to defend users of public health in the municipality of Lorca, so that they "know and assert" their rights, and have the necessary legal weapons so that they can claim against the endless and "shameful" waiting lists in health that supports the health area III as a whole.

The socialist mayor says that the time has come for citizens to take the initiative and claim, to make their rights valres.

For this, from the PSOE invite all citizens, whose waiting times exceed the maximums established by law, to participate in this conference, inform themselves of what are the deadlines and, based on what is regulated by Decree 25/2006 of regional regulations, claim to advance your medical appointment.

In particular, the mayor recalled that the maximum periods established for access to these health benefits are placed in 150 days maximum to wait for a surgical intervention;

30 for a diagnostic test, and 50 days for appointment with the specialty doctor.

"Any appointment that exceeds these deadlines, is outside of what the Decree guarantees, and therefore is reportable," he says.

Sánchez Jódar has returned to denounce the waiting times suffered by health users in Lorca.

Only area III, which covers the municipalities of Lorca, Puerto Lumbreras, Águilas, Totana and Aledo "brings together more than 50% of patients who remain in limbo, on the waiting list but with no date assigned to be treated."

Specifically, 6,750 of the total of 16,422 that wait without appointment throughout the Region of Murcia.

The mayor has once again shown that Lorca wait, on average, up to 31.98 days more than the rest of Murcia to access the first consultation of specialty doctor.

In the area of waiting lists for diagnostic tests, the outlook is "discouraging".

In this case, the mayor has indicated that it becomes "evident" the lack of equipment that supports the Rafael Méndez hospital and health area III.

Up to 7,667 users remain "without an assigned date" for the performance of these tests and diagnostic techniques.
