The director of the Regional Wastewater Treatment and Sanitation Entity (Esamur), Joaquín Ruiz, visited yesterday, together with representatives of the Lorca City Council, the wastewater treatment plant of La Hoya, to verify the improvements incorporated in this infrastructure, that have supposed an investment of 670,500 euros.
These improvements include the installation of two microturbines to optimize the flow of biogas, thus maximizing the production of electricity for the self-consumption of the plant, which reduces the consumption of the electricity grid.
Other improvements have also been incorporated, such as a new deodorization system, the control of sodium hypochlorite disinfection and the sifting of sludge.
In order to achieve the energy optimization of the plant, state-of-the-art equipment has been installed with the best electrical efficiency in the market.
