The spokesman of the PSOE regrets that the episodes of rain have returned to generate flooding of land in the municipality.

The Spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has once again demanded from all administrations "immediate actions" to put an end to the risk of flooding that continues to suffer the municipality of Lorca.
"We are tired of every time there is a threat of rain we have to look at the sky with great concern, and all because of the slowness of the administrations and the delay with which this issue has been addressed during all these years."
The episodes of rain this weekend have caused the flooding of lands in our municipality, especially severe in the areas that were affected in 2012 as a result of the tragic flood of San Wenceslao.
"It is the consequence of the inaction of the different administrations, who in six years have not moved a single paper or a gram of land to solve this neighborhood concern," adds Mateos.
"The different administrations have not done anything, not a single work, or write a single project, since 2012," he reproaches.
Mateos has returned to denounce that it is unfortunate that six years after that tragedy occurred, no measure has been set to prevent the risk of flooding, which reaches much of the Lorca and the pre-littoral depression from Almendricos to Torrecilla and Campillo, where more than 10,000 Lorca reside.
In this sense, Mateos calls on the regional administration to start work on the construction of the promised viaduct on the Águilas motorway on the channel of the Biznaga ravine to prevent it from acting as a barrier or the restitution of this historic channel, or which is the same, improve the permeability of the RM-11 and the RM-711. "" While this work, fundamental, is still not done, the water will continue to find an insurmountable barrier that will continue causing the flooding of the whole area, "he adds. .
Mateos has also demanded greater speed from the Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura in the drafting of pending projects, which, he points out, "have begun as a result of the change of government."
The Spokesman of the PSOE recalls that the new leadership of this organization has found "everything to do" and is now when they are drafting the development of a comprehensive flood defense plan in the Guadalentín Valley, with the completion of the preliminary projects for the construction of the dams of Nogalte, Béjar and La Torrecilla.
Mateos has stressed that since the PSOE of Lorca "we will continue to be equally demanding, govern who governs with all administrations."
"The security and tranquility of the affected neighbors is above political parties," he says.
