The Spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has highlighted the work that the Socialist Party continues to support the workers of Coopbox, immersed for a few weeks in a File of Regulation of Employment after the entry of the company in the bankruptcy phase.

As a result of their concern, the PSOE has taken to the Congress of Deputies the situation of the workers of Coopbox and also has arranged a meeting with the Director General of the Ministry of Industry of Spain "to continue looking for alternatives for maintenance of these jobs. "

This meeting, scheduled for tomorrow, November 21 at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry, in Madrid, will gather representatives of the workers of Coopbox, members of the PSOE de Lorca who, together with Deputy Maria Gonzalez Veracruz will transfer to the General Director of Industry the difficult situation that this group of employees is going through.

In parallel, and also in support of these workers, the PSOE has registered a Proposition No Law at the table of the Congress of Deputies, in support and solidarity towards the workers of Coopbox, for debate in the Committee on Industry , Commerce and Tourism.

"We want the Congress of Deputies to express their support for these workers, and at the same time, to urge the Government so that the different public administrations, local, regional and state, through their competent bodies, are involved and work in a coordinated manner and joint for the search of solutions and alternative that suppose the maintenance of the places of work and of the industrial activity ", assures Mateos.

"Everyone, public institutions and political parties, we must pitch in to try to find solutions to this worrying situation."

Mateos believes that this "difficult situation" only "deepens" the deindustrialization and relocation of companies, not only in Lorca and the Guadalentín region but also in the region as a whole.

"The challenge highlighted by Mateos is to work together to avoid the destruction of the industrial sector, an issue that must include all public administrations and all political groups, to give an image of strength, unity and support to the 115 employees and employees of Coopbox Hispania, as well as any merchant who is in the same conditions ".

This image of support and unity, says Mateos, "is the one that should favor so that future investors do not have doubts to dare to undertake and invest in our municipality, and that they can suppose a solution to the situation of Coopbox and others that were in a similar situation. "
