IU: "Adif and City Council cause the suspension of the contract for the connection between the Marín road and the Alameda de Cervantes" (21/11/2018)

The councilor of IU-Greens, Gloria Martin, censures that the lack of foresight, planning and understanding between the Administrations is paying citizens.

The suspension of the contract may result in the City Council paying damages to the adjudicator of the works

The councilor of IU Greens Lorca, Gloria Martin, has regretted that the City of Lorca had to agree on the "total temporary suspension" of the contract relating to the refurbishment and improvement of infrastructure between the Alameda de Cervantes and the Marín road, which they will not be resumed until Adif does not authorize it.

The agreement, recorded in the minutes of the Local Government Board on November 19, is produced at the request of the management of the work that was being executed by the company LEAMAR 2.001, SA at a cost of 262,481.51 euros, and whose promoter is the City Council.

The works consisted in the interconnection of the neighborhoods of the Alameda de Cervantes, adjacent to the Juan Carlos I Avenue, and the new ones located on the Camino Marín, through the Carlos María Barberán street, in order to incorporate this road as a via of evacuation in case of emergency.

The paralysis affects the planned new street, which runs parallel to the railway line and also to the level crossing works.

Martín explained that the works began on January 26, 2018 and had a deadline of nine months.

However, on May 11, the City Council received a communication from Adif temporarily suspending works authorizations pending the completion of the study of the layout of the High Speed Line on its way through Lorca.

"Now, the contract is directly suspended", lamented Martin, who recalled that, despite the fact that the informative study of the layout has already been made public, the management of the work ensures that "there is no evidence of the authorization of Adif "to continue with its development.

Martin recalled that the suspension of work may mean that the Administration has to pay the contractor "damages and losses", which has criticized the City Council got "in this berenjenal" without having guaranteed the permits of the railway administrator.

The mayor of IU-Greens has also criticized the performance of this body, under the Ministry of Development, which still does not authorize the work can continue.

"If it is true that there was a prior permission from Adif that was later revoked, we demand the responsible councilor to teach it", in allusion to Ángel Meca (PP).

"The neighbors are fed up with listening as one and the other fleas are frightened while no one gives his face and takes responsibility for what is happening."

The same in Camino Marín

Something similar is happening to the residents of the Marín road due to the conflict between the City Council and Telefónica due to the burying of the line, which has caused the works of this road to be paralyzed for months.

This is generating serious problems of accessibility in an area that is especially busy because important public services are located nearby such as the National Police Commissioner, the Sutullena Health Center and its SUAP, the mental health center, the municipal school of music or a public daycare.

"People with reduced mobility, and even those who push a baby chair, have to walk between ditches and holes and overcome countless physical barriers," said Martin, who lamented that the lack of planning and understanding between the administrations are paying for them. citizens.
