Councilwoman Gloria Martin denounces that the news that appears on lorca.es and that refers to the agreements adopted unanimously by the City Council calls for the reopening of the railway line Lorca-Almanzora-Baza-Guadix, does not include an amendment to IU which requires the extension, up to 1.6 million euros, of the item contemplated in the General State Budget for the drafting of its Informative Study

The councilor of Izquierda Unida-Verdes Lorca, Gloria Martin, has demanded that the news be rectified from the municipal website that refers to the plenary agreements adopted yesterday unanimously, for which the City Council calls for the reopening of the Lorca railway line. Almanzora-Baza-Guadix.

The news does not include the replacement amendment that IU got accepted by the group proposing the motion (PP) by which the Government of Spain was asked to expand, up to 1.6 million euros, the item provided in the General Budget of 2017, intended for the drafting of the Informative Study of the railway line.

In the debate on the motion, the IU councilor recalled that the budget appropriation for this purpose is not 600,000 euros, as stated by the PP, but rather more than 500,000 distributed between 2018 and 2019. Therefore, and based on the recommendation of a report prepared by technicians from the Department of Urban Planning and Planning of the University of Granada that amounts to 1.6 million euros investment planned for the study, Martin got the motion amended to also meet the requirement of a budget increase up to that figure.

The modification of the agreement must be included in the session log, which was accepted by the proposing councilor, Ángel Meca (PP).

"We do not understand that the municipal press office disseminates incomplete and biased news, so we demand a rectification and that it be transferred to the media," said Martín.

The amendment of IU is not included in the voting balance of the Ordinary Plenary corresponding to the month of November that is being disseminated through the municipal website lorca.es.

The mayor of IU also regrets that from the Press Office have attached an archive photograph to illustrate the information where only leaders of the PP appear, including the Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil and Mecca, "when the agreement is the entire Municipal Corporation ".

In addition, Martin also affected the information treatment of the news, which includes criticism of the PSOE government, which closed the line 34 years ago, "while singing the benefits of a Popular Party that, in two decades of mandates of Aznar and Rajoy He did nothing to reverse this situation. "

"We believe that the municipal press office, paid by all Lorca, must act with a minimum of objectivity, accuracy and representativeness, not be a device at the service, exclusively, the government of the day," Martin concluded.
