Grandparents Storytellers carry out an extensive program of activities in schools in the city to celebrate Christmas (19/12/2018)

The Councilor for Family and Social Welfare of the City of Lorca, Fátima Mínguez, this morning visited the Storytellers Grandparents who during this Christmas are carrying out various activities in schools in our city with the aim of stimulating relationships these Christmas between adults and children through the reading of different narrations.

Fátima Mínguez pointed out that "the grandparents' Christmas program began on Monday at the school in San José and the special education school Pilar Soubrier, while yesterday they visited the children of the Eliosol nursery. Her visit to the Casa del Niño school where they are developing different stories with a Christmas theme The activities will continue tomorrow with a visit to Apandis and next January 3 at 5:30 pm in the Christmas enclosure, located in Alporchones street, where the little ones will be able to enjoy an intimate afternoon thanks to the dramatizations of the Grandparents Storytellers ".

The Councilor for Family and Social Welfare recalled that "Grandparents Storytelling is a training project that aims to promote the memory of our elders and also lead to intergenerational cross-sectional projects and transmission of values ​​that comes to complement and expand profits who report these storytelling workshops that are being developed from the Lorca Consistory. "

Mínguez has indicated that "from the Family and Social Welfare we are developing a great task and a great work to promote active aging among the elderly of our entire municipality, a main objective for our seniors feel sheltered, useful and integrated into a society He owes them a lot and he has them, above all, during this Christmas season where family gatherings predominate.The start-up of this program aims to revalue the figure of our elders, grandparents and the influence they exert on children, to be seen as individuals capable of interacting and communicating with other generations through the exercise of reading, storytelling and storytelling. "

The Councilor for Family and Social Welfare added that "in addition, this program of Christmas storytelling is part of the projects of the Department of Family and Social Welfare, with which they intend to develop projects and activities throughout the year like this one, in which our elders are active protagonists, since one of the fundamental objectives on which this Council is working is to offer our biggest projects in which they develop an active role ".

Fátima Mínguez, finally, stressed that "from the City of Lorca encourage the elderly in our municipality to participate in the Storytelling Grandparents Project that we organize in collaboration with the Caixa and that gives the possibility of, apart from participating in the workshops , to have an advice and bibliographical support, as well as meetings for the sharing of experiences, and to participate in the different transversal projects that are developed throughout the year ".
