The victims will receive direct and personalized attention to help them complete the simplified account in the City Council Earthquake Office
The Autonomous Community and the City of Lorca streamline the entire process of justification of the aid granted to repair the damage caused by earthquakes in homes thanks to direct and personalized attention to the neighbors who benefit from these subsidies and who are awaiting justification.
The neighbors, through the Office of Integral Advice to the Reconstruction of Houses, dependent of the City council, will receive information of the situation of their files and technical assistance to help them to properly complete the documentation included in the simplified account of the execution of the works.
The Office will check and verify that the simplified accounts are duly completed, then send them to the Ministry of Development and notify beneficiaries that they have successfully completed this phase.
The technical staff of the Office will call in the coming days to each of those affected pending justification of the grant to get them the model of the simplified account and help them to complete it.
In this situation there are 2,748 people and in the next few days 68 neighbors will be informed of the file of their file.
The Minister of Development and Infrastructure, Patricio Valverde, and the mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, today signed an agreement for the consistory, as a collaborating body and manager of the aforementioned Office, to carry out this work of information and advice to each of the affected neighbors in the processing of their files.
The counselor stressed that the objective "is to establish a fast and agile processing of this phase of the aid to give immediate solution to the neighbors and put us once again at your disposal to resolve your doubts, help them to complete the simplified account of justification of the help and provide the necessary documentation. "
Valverde stressed that this agreement "is further proof of the commitment of President Fernando López Miras with the residents of Lorca to solve their problems" and recalled that it also promoted the approval of Law 8/2018 that "makes the justification of aid more flexible through the simplified account and extends the term for one more year ".
Also the councilor reiterated to the Government of Spain that "give final solution to two very important issues for the neighbors: the signing of the agreement of the rents so that they can be paid to Lorca and the extension of the term of reconstruction aid through a legislative amendment ".
Inauguration of the exhibition 'Lorca: Yesterday and today'
During his visit to Lorca, the Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure and the mayor inaugurated the exhibition of photographer María José Ruiz, who toured the city that was devastated by the earthquakes and the construction of the new Lorca after the remodeling works carried out by the Community, the State and the City Council.
The exhibition consists of 30 panels of photographs that show the before and after of different neighborhoods, churches, educational and sports centers and other buildings in the city.
In the exhibition we can see the works of urban regeneration in La Viña, Alfonso X el Sabio, Juan Carlos I avenue, Los Angeles, Apolonia, San Diego, San Cristóbal and Alameda de Cervantes, as well as in the reconstruction of the Palacio de Congresos, the institutes of Secondary Education Francisco Ros Giner and Ramón Arcas.
It also exhibits the profound rehabilitation of the collegiate of St. Patrick and the temples of San Mateo, El Carmen, San Francisco, Santo Domingo, San Diego, San Jose and the convent of the Poor Clares, among others.
