The PSOE transfers the complaints of patients from Rafael Méndez's neonatal unit to the management of area III and the Ministry of Health and demands improvements (08/01/2019)

The PSOE lorquino echoes the experience of a family that has made public the "third world" situation for which, they say, they are having to go through Rafael Méndez, because he is denied a bed in which he can recover from a Cesarean section while you must remain with your child, admitted for bronchiolitis after birth.

"We are not talking about big changes, we are asking that this pivotal case be studied and the request of this family be addressed"

The deputy spokesperson of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Marisol Sanchez has transferred to the management of area III and the Regional Ministry of Health complaints of a family that has denounced through social networks the situation "third world" that, they claim, they are having to go because the Rafael Méndez neonatal unit does not have beds so that mothers who have just given birth can rest with their children while they are hospitalized due to illness.

The specific case of this family is that of a mother who is still convalescing due to a cesarean and who, several days after being discharged after giving birth, have had to re-enter because of a bronchiolitis suffered by the newborn born.

"The absence of beds in this room forces this mother, convalescing due to the cesarean section that was practiced, to have to spend day and night in an armchair, to be able to cover the period of lactation," they warn.

"It is unheard of that the management of area III of health is denying a bed to guarantee rest and adequate recovery of this mother who is still recovering from her cesarean and who, yes or yes, must stay with her newborn baby to breastfeeding, "insists the mayor.

"It is a case in point, we are not talking about applying great changes, just to study the case of this family and act to guarantee minimums for this mother who is still convalescing after the cesarean section that was performed."

"We are facing another case of the lack of sensitivity of a Regional Government led by a party, the Popular Party, which is unable to put themselves in the shoes of these families, and ultimately the users of the Rafael Méndez hospital, consenting to I came to these unfortunate situations, "says Sánchez Jódar.
