The signing of an agreement with the Murciano Health Service, endowed with 165,000 euros, will allow the realization of programs through Nypacold and the Murcia Psychosocial Rehabilitation Association (ISOL), as well as the provision of services by the Municipal Social Services Center

The Councilor for Family and Social Welfare of the City of Lorca, Fátima Mínguez, reported this morning that the Local Government Board approved last December 21 to request the Murcia Health Service extension, by 2019, of the agreement signed with the Lorca Consistory whose purpose is the development of actions in the field of rehabilitation and socio-labor insertion of people with mental illness and / or drug dependence.

Fátima Mínguez said that "" our commitment to people suffering from a mental illness or problems due to drug addiction goes further through the new agreement that will allow continuity and complete the programs made available for rehabilitation, assistance and the collaboration, consolidating Lorca as a solidary municipality with those who most need the help.

This agreement is endowed with a budget of 165,000 euros, of which 80,000 euros are contributed by the City Council and 85,000 euros by SMS.

The amount of the same will be used for the development of the programs that the City Council has been carrying out in previous years ".

The Councilor for Family and Social Welfare, in this regard, added that "in the first place, we will continue to provide economic support to the NGOs that develop assistance projects and socio-labor insertion of drug addicts and / or mental patients, at the local level; as is the case of the Nypacold Association, which receives a municipal subsidy amounting to 22,950 euros for the development of the project: "Prevention, assistance and rehabilitation of drug addicts".

Mínguez has detailed that "the Murcian Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation (ISOL) that is developing in our municipality the project called" Program of rehabilitation and job placement for people with mental illness ", through the realization of courses and pre-labor workshops and occupations of organic farming, gardening, mosaics, information technology and cross-cutting competencies for employment.Of these courses have benefited more than 80 people with mental health and / or addiction problems in 2018, preferably derived from public mental health services and services. of Lorca and Comarca, a program endowed with a municipal subsidy of 78,000 euros ".

The Edil of Family and Social Welfare has indicated that "also, within the framework of this agreement, the" Inertia Program "is being developed, a training program for socio-employment insertion, aimed at people in situation or at risk of social exclusion. 19 people have participated in this program, who have had a training scholarship and with the coverage of accident and accident insurance, through this program it has been possible to make possible that those people who have previously done specific training in social skills can complement the training received through the development of other training activities, non-work, more standardized, with a view to their socio-labor insertion.

Fátima Mínguez said that "these trainees have developed their training in municipal facilities, specifically in the Center for Child Development and Early Care and the Municipal Garden Service, as well as in different NGOs and entities with which the City of Lorca has subscribed the corresponding collaboration agreements or protocols: "San Diego" Residence and Poncemar Foundation Day Center During part-time, they have completed, during a period of 9 months, a practical training in the modalities of concierge-maintenance , cleaning, gardening and cooking ".

The Councilor for Family and Social Welfare stressed that "in addition to the above, the City of Lorca, through the Municipal Center for Social Services, has been providing various financial assistance to cover the cost of stay and transfer to rehabilitation centers and / or Therapeutic communities for the rehabilitation of drug addicts, to people affected by this problem, are processed in coordination with the Unit for Attention to Drug Addicts of the Mental Health Center In 2018, 10 Lorca have benefited from these aids, 6 women and 4 men. "
