The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, has anticipated this morning that the Ministry of Justice will approve a modification of the works to make possible the construction of the Palace of Justice following the line previously set by the City Council and professionals of justice .

Fulgencio Gil explained that "the Ministry of Justice is going to process a modified project to accommodate the maintenance of the facades and an eventual correction of the water table, for which, the administration is going to draw up an act of temporary suspension of the works while processing this modified, action that responds to the demands raised by the City, as it is a project that is tendered and awarded.

"

Gil has stated that "from the City Council we do not consider any other option, the Palace of Justice has to be built in the planned place, in the heart of the Historic Quarter of Lorca, since the construction of this infrastructure is decisive within the project that We are developing in our city Lorca are carrying out the battery of investments and improvements more extensive in history, achieving a stronger Lorca, we have a project of a municipality that will enjoy a long journey, whose horizon goes beyond of 2025, with a serious vocation for the future ".

The First Edil has emphasized that "the new Palace of Justice guarantees space for our judicial headquarters during a period of at least 50 years, and constitutes a very particular case within the panorama of this type of infrastructure, since Lorca is the only city in which is currently going to build a unified judicial headquarters in the heart of the historic case ".

He also stressed that this project includes "an ambitious task of recovering the monumental heritage, an advantage that must be added the integral improvement of Selgas Street, which must be a heart that pumps blood to the entire local historic center, boosting its dynamism and putting in value ".
