The PSOE returns to claim that the elderly in residences recover the extra payments that were cut by the crisis (11/01/2019)

Mateos announces a new initiative to the Plenary Session of the Municipality of Lorca to demand the Regional Government of the PP to return the extra payments to its legitimate recipients.

"You can not boast of tax cuts at the cost of snatching a sector as vulnerable as our elders, their right to extraordinary pay."

The candidate for Mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has again demanded the Regional Government of the PP to return to the majors of public and private residences the extraordinary payment that since 2012 the IMAS remains every June and December.

Mateos announces that facing the next regular plenary session, the PSOE will raise this requirement through a motion with which Lorca socialists will defend these families, since 2012 and by the Popular Party cuts, see as the IMAS , body dependent on the Government of the Autonomous Community is charged from the largest residents their extraordinary payments.

It is not the first time that the Lorca PSOE promotes initiatives, both in the City of Lorca and the Regional Assembly.

"Every time we have asked that these seniors regain their extra pay, the Popular Party has opposed it head on."

Since 2012, and by decision of the Popular Party of the Region of Murcia, the extraordinary payments of the majors of residences of the Region (public and concerted) are subject to the calculation base that determines the monthly contributions per resident seat.

It was through Law 6/2012 of June 29, on Tax, Social, Economic and Administrative Measures of the Region of Murcia when Decree 126/2010 of May 28 was modified, establishing changes in the calculation that determines the monthly contribution of the elderly, users of residences for the elderly in the Region of Murcia.

"It is an unfair measure, which affects only the elderly residents of the Region of Murcia," remembers Mateos, while he warned that "while the Popular Party of Lopez Miras and Gil Jódar boast of descents of taxes, what they hide, what they do not say, is that it is at the cost, among other things, of cutting our elderly from the residences something so necessary and that they are entitled by right as is their extraordinary payments ".

Mateos has warned that many families have contacted the Municipal Socialist Group to raise these complaints again.

"It is a right that belongs to these people, to these elderly, who need their pay to pay for their things, for their expenses, for their autonomy, and of course, to lend a hand at home, let's not forget that even in times like today, there are many older people who are the only sustenance for many families affected by the crisis and lack of work ".
