The socialists denounce the situation of neglect and abandonment in which are the playgrounds of Cabezo Marines, Diario La Verdad and Cabezo Casas Blancas, where they demand from the PP government team actions to improve facilities and the safety of users, especially the minors who use them.
The Municipal Socialist Group in the City of Lorca, through its councilor David Romera, has claimed Gil Jódar actions to improve facilities and user safety in the parks of the Barrio de San Cristóbal, denouncing serious deficiencies that are observed simple sight and that they are consequence "of the forgetfulness, the lack of attention and the degradation" that these zones of recreation have been suffering, which is generating discomfort among the neighbors of the area.
Specifically, the socialists demand improvements in three parks in the neighborhood, those located in the Cabezo Marines (which is accessed by the street Portijico), the newspaper La Verdad newspaper (which is accessed by Abellaneda street) and located in the Cabezo Casas Blancas through Sandoval street.
Romera has indicated that these parks "are not provided by the PP Government team the attention they deserve compared to others located in the center of the city or in other neighborhoods of Lorca, which are much better served", it is It is evident that "no improvements or maintenance works are being undertaken, nor is gardening and broken furniture replaced, nor are safety conditions in children's areas increased" despite the fact that the Socialist Group has denounced this situation in several times
It is a comparative grievance that "has no justification whatsoever" when the residents of the Barrio de San Cristóbal "have the same right in their parks and gardens to enjoy the best facilities and in the most suitable conditions of decoration and security".
The socialist mayor has listed the multiple deficiencies detected in the parks of Cabezo Marines, Diario La Verdad and Cabezo Casas Blancas and that especially affect the safety of children who use them as a place for leisure and recreation.
In the Cabezo Marines Park the night lighting is insufficient, the playground is not delimited and has direct access from a road with vehicle traffic, there are broken playgrounds that have not been replaced, there are curbs in the playgrounds that they are dangerous in case of fall of minors;
the playground is on a gravelly sand where even dog droppings accumulate, the security perimeter fence in the game room or part of the outer fence has not been replaced, more litter bins are missing, a drinking fountain for water is missing users and there is not around the rubber pavement game apparatus that, in addition to cushioning the fall of children, is more hygienic.
In the Park of the La Verdad newspaper appear many other deficiencies that have to do with the suppression of a drinking fountain, do not fix the broken wastebaskets as well as the appeased ones detached from the fountains;
the vegetation or the broken luminaires existing under the pergola are not restored;
It is also necessary to increase the cleaning and garbage collection of the wastebaskets.
In the playground there is also no rubber pavement to cushion the fall of children.
On the other hand, in the forest area of ​​the park there is no night lighting, the vegetation is very neglected, garbage accumulates, drip irrigation gums are dangerous when left on the surface (many broken) and the access road requires repairs.
Finally, in the Cabezo de Casas Blancas Park, the main deficiencies are related to the lack of replacement of the disappeared trees, which lack irrigation, the lack of lighting at night and water troughs, the accumulation of litrons and garbage. , and the poor condition of some of its facilities.
It has also been claimed on several occasions that the forest area immediately adjacent to the park will be cleaned and sanitized to make it a recreational area in the area.
From the Municipal Socialist Group, in addition to claiming to the PP the rectification of these deficiencies in the shortest possible time so that the residents of the neighborhood of San Cristóbal can enjoy their parks and gardens in the most optimal conditions of decoration and security possible, they demand that a public awareness and awareness campaign be carried out throughout the municipality on the need to respect public spaces to eradicate vandalism, and a greater police presence to discourage this type of behavior.
