Pedro Sosa, councilor spokesman of Izquierda Unida Verdes Lorca in the town of Lorca, has presented this morning the prayers that will take to the plenary this month, in which he asks for the cleaning of the peri-urban natural spaces, the report of culture that according to the government local authorized the removal of the balustrade of the sixteenth century of the Church of Santa Maria and the sealing of open wells at ground level that are scattered throughout the municipality.
The signposted path between the place of Los Pilones and the Cejo de los Enamorados and its variants to Los Miradores, Peña Rubia, Rambla del Cambrón or Quintilla, has become one of the most emblematic routes of Lorca and most used for leisure in nature of our municipal area, but unfortunately not all Lorca are aware of their value and throw garbage into the environment.
Therefore, it is necessary to promote campaigns from the City Council that combine citizen awareness with the sanction of behaviors such as those described.
It is very unedifying the uncivil attitude of those who are not able to return to their homes with the garbage they have generated along the way, and in front of it these campaigns are made precise.
Another of the prayers has to do with the restoration of the 16th century balustrade of the Church of Santa María, and that was completely replaced by virtue of a report by the technicians of the Ministry of Culture of the CARM, according to the mayor's words of Culture, Mr. Llamas, when we asked him about it in July of last year.
But despite the time elapsed and after showing your willingness to send it to us, we have not yet been given this report, so we request it again, to demand the appropriate responsibilities in case it had been done without the authorization and approval of technicians.
Finally, after the sad episode that occurred in the municipality of Totalán, we know of the existence of similar dangerous wells in places such as the Castillo de Felí;
Sierra de Almenara;
Sierra de Pedro Ponce;
surroundings of Zarzadilla de Totana, surroundings of Peña Rubia and El Cejo;
in the bed of the Guadalentín river;
in the spot of Los Búcanos near La Escucha, etc.
But from the conviction that there are many more, we believe it is absolutely necessary to carry out as soon as possible a map of open wells in the municipality of Lorca, counting with the collaboration of, among others, groups of walkers, irrigation communities , associations of hunters, forestry nursery, associations of residents of the districts of Lorca with mountains and natural spaces, speleologists and regional administration in environmental matters and mines, etc., to proceed after the sealing or assurance of the same.
