Citizens Lorca will ask in the next plenary session to study the implementation and commissioning of recharging points enabled for electric vehicles (23/01/2019)

Citizens will ask the City Council to study the development of a plan to implement recharging points enabled for electric vehicles in addition to facilitating the procedures for the installation of such chargers in private areas, to study new measures that encourage the purchase of electric vehicles, complementary to the IVTM bonus already applied to vehicles with lower CO2 emissions.

Likewise, we will urge the government team to study a reduced rate of 50% for electric or zero emission vehicles in the regulated parking areas (zonal blue), accompanying all these measures with an awareness campaign on CO2 emissions and the importance of the use of electric and hybrid vehicles to avoid such emissions.

Electric and hybrid mobility in road transport contributes significantly to the development of a new energy model, based on increasing energy efficiency, supporting the use of renewable energies, reducing polluting emissions, reducing noise pollution, improving air quality and reduce the high dependence on oil.

According to Antonio Meca, one of the causes of the scarce implantation of the electric vehicle is mainly the scarcity of recharging points.

"We are aware of the need to increase this number of charging stations, both fast and semi-fast.

Therefore, the shortage of recharging points is a serious problem for the development of electric mobility ".

In Lorca there are two points installed but they are not operational.

The current Government is looking with the MOVALT 2019 plan, that sustainable mobility is an early reality, as well as adapting Spain to other European countries.

As a result of this, the MOVALT 2019 Plan will include a total of 66.6 million euros to be distributed in four major grants and subsidies: vehicles that work with alternative energies, recharging infrastructure, encourage the rental of bicycles per minute and promote mobility sustainable in companies.

"The City of Lorca could join and be a beneficiary of public aid for the installation of electric recharging points.

This help could cover up to one hundred percent of the cost of installing up to three electric vehicle charging points "explains Meca.
